The Veep Game

So, I think discussing possible VP picks might be my favorite part of Presidential elections. Deliberating over the merits of various potentials and who would actually enhance the ticket and influence voters.

So, for those (R)'s that haven't yet committed to Trump --Is there someone that would ease your mind a bit in the VP spot? I know I would love to see Newt fill the spot, but Condi Rice or Joni Ernst might be the more politic choice.

if Hillary is smart, she'll steer clear of Pocahontas and Crazy Bernie and go for a business minded male...though I hope she goes for Warren.

I have to say, I'll be annoyed if Trump goes the Kaisch or Christy RINO route...

Who would you like to see?

Here's your gal talking about your man after your man told the world your gal's boss lied.

“Before people start revisiting the past, [people] who want to be president, they ought to address how they are going to do it in the future, because the one thing that I will proudly say is after the horrors of 9/11, it didn’t happen again on President Bush’s watch.”

Exactly!
bush only let it happen once. Got that Trump!

Well ALa, I think that Newt was on the short list for some spot, but the V.P. position doesn't make sense. (His talent is in policy and active working with the legislative branch). Newt's recent comments suggest that he wasn't offered the one he wanted.
Trumps V.P. choice will be interesting. Rice would be acceptable and would fit his strategic thinking. The only GOP primary opponent that I think has a chance is Ben Carson. There are a few others politicians that might make sense, but one of the 'amnesty crowd' would raise more concerns with the base than he would be worth. Mayor Giuliani, Ambassador John Bolton, would both bring a solid background to the ticket.

We must be coming to the "Last Days" Regular-Bullshit-Bob is praising Bush. I can't imagine how that must taste for him.

Who it should be is way up in the air. But what qualities and characteristics can be better defined.

First, younger than Trump by a good sight. The chances are good that both Trump or Hillary would be one term due simply to their age. So, the VP would be sort of an heir apparent. Newt is out on that count.

(Bernie, though, I have to credit him, the old geezer is ticking like the Energizer Bunny. But maybe the devils inside just keep him going.)

Broad foreign policy or military chops.

The ability to act coolly under pressure and to take a general set of directions and execute them well. Someone who can stand up before hostile press/pols and reduce them to the low level of intelligence and integrity so common to the type, but who can work quietly across all levels and types to get things done, and make people feel good even when they do not get all they want.

Someone whose integrity is strong and whose voice is respected or could become so.

These are a few items.

As far as that vile phony Warren goes, sadly, the left does not care one whit that she lied about being an American Indian simply in order to get preferential treatment, and is a raving hypocrite when she, worth millions, blathers about income inequality.

BUT, she is ambitious enough and devious enough to pull the ling knife and undermine Hillary so she can position herself to succeed to the nomination in 4 years. At the same time, Hill is a vile and vicious alley brawler, too, so the entertainment value of that alone would be some consolation if those two contemptible villains get elected, in one manner or another.

I'm wracking my brain and I don't think there is anyone that would make me feel better about voting for him. I don't want to see the few politicians I like having to clarify Trump's moronic comments and inconsistencies every two minutes.

I'm with ya Zelda! I still can't believe the GOP nominated this bloviating fool. Then again I can't believe the Dimacraps nominated a crook under an FBI investigation!! Talk about Dumb & Dumber, take your pick on who is who. I've voted in every election since '78 but have an incredible urge to sit this one out.

Oh well, I'll see who he picks for VP. I wound up voting for Sarah Palin back in '08. If Trump picks a VP I can vote for I might do the same. 'Course just like '08, I'll be praying Trump gets struck by lightening just after the inaugural!!

For the umpteenth time I say that one always votes for the least of evils. The only perfect candidate for Tater is Tater, and the only perfect candidate for CrabbyOldMan is CrabbyOldMan.

I point out that Trump has published a list from which he will select his Supreme Court nominees. I have not seen any criticism of those on the list.

The Wicked Witch of the West has not come up with any such list. I cringe to think of who would be on it if she does. For that reason I cannot imagine not voting or voting for some "protest" candidate.

Well for the record CrabbyOldMan, I'd vote for CrabbyOldMan! ;-)

IF Trump really wants to shake things up, solidify his working class support, and destroy the DNC - Jim Webb.

Probably the guy closest to him policy-wise anyhow.

Rickvid in Seattle said...

Bram, Webb was the only guy on the Dem stage I might have considered.

Hill would nominate more Constitution-optional judges, and even a solid Republican Senate would not stop her. So, Trump it is. Unless something really unexpected pops up.

For the Dems, how about this: Barry spoke with Loretta the Lynch just after he met with the Bern. What if they agreed to wait until the convention, spring an indictment on her so Slo Joe Bidden can ride to the rescue. I cannot believe that Barry really really really wants Hill in the WH.

“I don’t have thin skin — I have very strong, very thick skin,”

So, Donald, in about 1 year, transformed himself into a thick-skinned vulgarian who rants, whines and complains about everything and everyone.

Al Gore created the interwebs so we all could share a chuckle over the great white dope. Thank you, Al Gore.

I've decided that I will vote for Trump if he picks Monica Lewinsky as his running mate.

This is definitely not a comment about the great white dope's campaign paying great white dope business's about $6,200,000.00

Or that the great white dope's claim of raising $6,000,000.00 from a fundraiser turned out to be only half that.

Glad things have picked up around here. I missed rbb's inane jabber...

It must warm you heart that the great white dope has enlisted the Hoot-Smalley gal from MN to help fool Christians into voting for him.

He's also picked up the endorsement of a TEEVEE preacher who, not long ago, proclaimed a different gop as God's chosen one: “I believe, with all my heart, that his son [Rafael Cruz] is called and anointed to be the next president of the United States".

What was God thinking anyway? Rafael?
Come on now, God's chosen people have chosen Trump!

rbb said...

The great white dope says he doesn't remember saying he has "one of the best memories in the world".

He did.
He doesn't.

Oh great white dope, why so dopey?

I don't care if Trump's campaign paid to use his own facilities. It's to be expected, and it's not illegal. And if you're going to make it an issue, you need to look much harder at the foreign governments who have given millions to the Clinton Foundation and acquired state department contracts while she was SEC. That is the true scandal.
