Is This Really the Big Picture for 2016?!

So, for the past few days I have been wanting to write about what I perceive as the INSANITY of Republicans even floating names like Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush for 2016.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

~Albert Einstein

As you might recall, I was VEHEMENTLY against Mitt the first time. But ONCE AGAIN running a LOSER? Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

As if that wasn't enough to make a girl's head explode (how many time's can one's head explode in a life time?), I read THIS ARTICLE today:

"Author Jacob Heilbrunn speculated in a New York Times op-ed Sunday that neoconservatives may rally around Hillary Clinton if she runs for president in 2016 and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is her opponent.

Sen. John McCain, a textbook hawk, has more than hinted that he might prefer Hillary Clinton over Rand Paul. When asked in 2013 who he’d support if it came down to Clinton-Paul, McCain answered, laughing: “It’s gonna be a tough choice.”

[T]he thing is, these neocons have a point. Mrs. Clinton voted for the Iraq war; supported sending arms to Syrian rebels; likened Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin, to Adolf Hitler; wholeheartedly backs Israel; and stresses the importance of promoting democracy. It’s easy to imagine Mrs. Clinton’s making room for the neocons in her administration.

You might think liberals would worry that Clinton is increasingly respected by these characteristically hawkish Republicans, but it doesn’t. Most liberals stand firmly behind her. (source)

Are you at as much of a loss as I am? Mitt? Jeb? Hillary? Over limited government Paul? He is a Republican. He isn't anti-war like his father...he's tempered.

What am I missing here?

Ever since the GOP decided to run Bob Dole for prez (not saying Bob is a bad guy) I have felt that the RNC has been infiltrated by the left. That's the only plausible explanation for the sorry lot they've put on the roster as candidate.

JRob:For the longest time (since Goldwater), the GOP for the most part has operated on the "well it's this guy's turn" theory of nominating for president.

I will never waste my vote on another worthless Bush - 3 times only to get screwed over every time.

Saw this today and got a little excited.

If I were Ted Cruz...

I liked "If I were Ted Cruz..."
I am afraid that the Republicans are going to be dragged to defeat by the abortion issue, which I think is a net looser.

"Attorney General Mark Levin" has a real nice ring to it. Just imagine...

Crabby - The vaginal lobby is powerful, but an aggressive campaign against Hillary and her rape enablement and defense (should they be dumb enough to nominate her) should nullify the attacks. Then we can talk about something other than vaginae which would be nice.

Vaginae. heh.

Ted Cruz doesn't have what it takes to win the election.

But I think Rand Paul does. The loyal GOP base will fall into line when they are staring a hated Clinton in the face.

Also this proposed ticket is clown shoes.

Sorry, but Palin is needlessly divisive and a bobble head quitter. I wouldn't make her the secretary of silly walks.

Scott Walker can stay where he is.

Alan West would make a better Secretary of Defense.

Herman Cain can stick to doing... whatever the fuck he's doing these days. Nobody actually cares.

John Bolton is the same as Jeb Bush but uglier. No thanks.

Ben Carson at Health is a great idea.

Mark Levin who? Nah.

Let me help you folks out. Instead of running the list of Fox News "Experts" on the Tea Party... how about whoever the nominee is put up his proposed cabinet during the ticket - thats a good idea - but have them actually be people qualified to do the job.

How about Rand Paul and oh I dunno... someone that can deliver the states of Florida and Ohio. I think that might be kinda important to winning.

How about subject matter experts that can get government under control and running efficiently instead of politically motivated appointees designed to make the base happy.

Political correctness stinks on either side of the issue.

I propose ... putting the right people in the right place and putting America fucking first.

Mark Levin, Who???? Oh Free...SMH.

Just keep in mind that the FIRST thing ya gotta do is WIN.
The cabinet members need to be named on the basis of their ability to attract votes and contributions. The actual execution of policy can and should be done by those who report to the secretary. The secretary should set objectives and general policy.
Would you buy Daimler-Benz stock because the President was a good welder?

Who can deliver Florida or Ohio who isn't a squish? Rubio? Or do we hate him? I think he's unliked right now for some reason.

And I'm really over Palin. Didn't think I ever would be, but her impeachment talk is imprudent and unhelpful.

Foxy Wizard said...

I don't hate Rubio. He lost the base because of his stand with illegal immigration- he actually was looking at a solution, something not possible in today's political climate. I still love Sarah Palin, but I agree that her impeachment talk is not useful. It's way too late to impeach, and might possibly provoke some sympathy for Obama.

CrabbyOldMan said...

Foxy Wizard nailed it.

Zelda said...

It's not that it's too late to impeach. It's that there isn't enough evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors to do it. She's jumping the gun.

But if they can link the White House to the IRS scandal, impeachment is squarely on the table. That's why it is so very important start taking heads.
