News Flash: Republicans Still Suck.

Why, oh why, have Republicans let Hillary skulk into the shadows after the Benghazi debacle?! Why are they letting her lick her wounds, mend and regroup?! And why am I ALWAYS questioning the "leadership" decisions of the GOP these days?

This is why I have been so frustrated. There really is no party that represents me.

The Liberals are like a Borderline Personality Disorder group therapy session.

The Democrats are basically Rush's much-talked-about "Low Information Voters" that refuse to see their party is being run by the BPD group.

The Libertarians have pretty much jumped the shark with the Conspiracy crap.

And, the Republicans have become master appeasers trapped in the group think bubble they always accuse Democrats of being in.

Aghhh!

Hillary should have been summarily taken out of the 2016 talk immediately after Benghazi. There is NO excuse why the Secretary of State that had Americans die on her watch (orders?) (because of secret CIA gun trade?) should be in the 2016 discussion!!!!!!!!

I have always wanted to live somewhere that had a pond in the back yard that freezes and now...what's the difference between the US and Canada...? Well, except free ice time for my kids...

Justin Amash, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul.

Those 3 seem to be the only people in DC who speak any sense at all on a regular basis. Everyone else in both parties seems to be absolutely insane.

Sure Canada has a crappy socialist government - but it isn't scary huge like ours, and they seem less likely to send a SWAT team through your door on a no-knock warrant.

The honest answer is that the Republicans leaders are secretly scared to death of Hillary. They know that continuing to connect her with the talked to death Benghazi incident will only make them appear shrill and her stronger.

If she chooses to run in 2016, I predict a landslide win for her. It's high time a woman is elected president and she fits the bill. I predict even some moderate GOP female voters will choose her.

And you're considering moving to a country with a government healthcare system conservatives have bashed non-stop for decades?

I have dreamed of the sane people putting together a right-center coalition that would crowd the wackos from both the far left and the far right off the bed.
I am extremely skeptical a third party would succeed. I think the best chance is for a coalition would take control away from the current Republican leadership.
I don't trust Rand Paul.

CrabbyOldMan said...

Malarkey, what actual qualifications does Shrillary have beyond it being a high time a woman is elected? She wouldn't have made a pimple on Margaret Thatcher's ass. Nor Golda Meier's.
Apparently, her getting in line to screw Slick Willie is a qualification.
You're such a dolt.

Don't trust him to what? Stop spying on us? Stop the foreign adventures? Reduce the size of the federal government?

Did you trust HW Bush who undid the Reagan revolution? Did you trust W., who presided over a doubling of the federal budget?

jim marquis said...

COB, I don't expect you to like her but we Democrats do. She's been involved in government for decades on different levels, understands social issues, has solid foreign policy experience and was married to a president who helped create 25 million new jobs (and can advise her how to do it again).

"It's high time a woman is elected..."

If you ask me, this is just as stoopid of a statement as it was when people were lighting off fireworks and praising whoever when a "black president" got elected. Who the fuck cares? Personally, I think it's "high time" that someone who's QUALIFIED TO BE POTUS is elected - I couldn't give two shits if that person is white, black or purple. Not to mention which kind of plumbing they have. It's "high time" to put someone in office who can straighten this fucking country out.

SoLow said...

PS - she was married to a President who essentially singlehandedly kicked my ass out of the Marine Corps, along with thousands of others who wanted to stay in. What next? How much $$ was used for signing bonuses when it was realized that we didn't have enough troops left in our downsized military??? Fucking brilliant. Everyone in the world named Clinton can take a long walk off a short fucking pier for all I care. Fuck 'em all.

I don't trust Rand Paul to conduct foreign policy. I think he has the same leanings as did the 1930s isolationists. Those isolationists are the reason that we ended up with a World War that cost over 30 million lives rather than a very much smaller, shorter and easier to win conflict.
I don't trust Rand Paul to deliver on his promises of smaller government. I, too, would like to see that. Unfortunately, he has to have the votes to deliver. Do you think he will get them?
I don't trust Rand Paul, or anyone else to stop spying on us, as uncomfortable as I am about it. Do you think anyone could survive terrorist attacks after having dropped the apparently effective monitoring program?

I don't know which Libertarians you're talking about, but Gary Johnson has officially declared he's running again in '16. If I recall correctly, he was one of your darlings.

COB, you're going to be REALLY crabby and miserable after she's elected in 2016. I'm looking forward to that.

I'm sure Ambassador Stevens will vote for her Jim, most dead folks do.

LOL Tater.

That's the idea of cardcheck on the polls, to keep the dead from voting!

Rickvid in Seattle said...

Tater, if they show an ID, should we discriminate against the dead? I mean, it probably isn't their fault they are dead.

Rickvid in Seattle said...

I guess that should have been addressed to Free.

More seriously, Hillary is the likely candidate at this pint. Who else is really up and coming? Slo Jo "Git a shotgun" Biden? Hmmm. Harry "I am not Skeletor" Reid? Not. The Three Harpies? No. Liz "Don't call me sqwah" Warren? Ugh. Of course, Obama was just a "clean, articulate black man" at this time in the 2008 cycle.
Yet, her baggage is myriad. Sadly, the Republicans are not showing the backbone to go toe to toe with her on anything.
Jim opines, not incorrectly, that going after her as the face of Benghazi would not likely work. Republicans should go after Benghazi itself, and make Obama the face of it until those images - burning buildings, calls for help, bloody handprints on a pillar, and an ambassador's dead body in the street - are burned into peoples' minds. Then, if Hillary runs, tie her to it tightly.

Rickvid in Seattle said...

The Republican I hope will get into the fray is a person who has taken a stern look at the realities, understands the American view of government and society, and has put himself through a brutal triage of ideas and developed and honed them to a fine edge. This is someone who is already working the phones, walking the halls, shaking hands, making coalitions, presenting ideas and concepts that get the attention of serious people. This person, unknown to me at this time, I will call Carlton Whitfield. Is this person out here? I do not know.
But if not, our future is dark. To carry the movie metaphor a bit further, I'd prefer a future of Edgar Friendly, not Raymond Cocteau. Under Hillary, and her sort, we little people will live lives carefully guided and ordered by our betters of the Administrative State. We will be cared for, comfortable, content, and dehumanized.

Hell yeah we should let the dead vote Rickvid! I'll grant you that most dead folk's brains are rotting in their skulls, but thats true of all Democrats!!

I'm inclined to agree with Foxy Wizard. I think Comrade Hussein has something up his sleeve. I freely admit that I don't know what though.
Can anyone name an instance of a Marxist/Communist government peacefully relinquishing power?

You might as well write in Sarah Palin. At least she hasn't killed anyone.

And ALa, don't even get me started on John McCain. If I could take my vote back and vote for Obama, I would.

I don't believe he has done all this to hand over the keys. We haven't even seen what he is preparing for. So far in his presidency, he has amassed information on every aspect of our lives, initiated drone strikes on citizens, purchased billions of rounds of ammunition, and urban warfare vehicles. He has whipped up hostility between races, cultures, classes and ages. He has declared war on "the rich", except those who open their wallets to him. He has put the Muslim Brotherhood in power in Egypt, Libya, and north Africa. He has destroyed the middle class in America. Declared war on our sovereignty.

He has forgiven Black Panthers obstructive voting booths in Philadelphia, downplayed terrorism in Texas, and allowed 100 to 200 million Christians worldwide to be persecuted with nary a peep of protest.

He has sided with the lawless who destroyed the nations Capital in Wisconsin, supported Sharpton in urging people to riot over the Zimmerman trial, and urged La Raza to rise up.

He has ignored Federal Judges who declared his appointments unconstitutional, created programs for exporting weapons to drug cartels, destroyed the fishing industry in the gulf, the coal industry in the East, the Keystone pipeline, and is attempting to shut down the oil boom in Texas.

Does that sound like someone who is just going to turn over power to someone else?

Now, before you guys get all antsy, remember I'm the only one on this blog who ever asked Hillary Clinton to her face to please by quiet... in front of George Pataki and Rudy Giuliani.

Now, as much as it pains me to defend the wicked witch of Pennsylvania Avenue... I must.

Tater, you were an AF officer, you know how this works! That place in Libya was a CIA safe house the agency was using to run the war in Libya from. It was under State Dep. cover so that

A: It had a cover for being there

and...

B: All the people working there had diplomatic immunity.

I mean really... when did we start hiring Navy Seals as diplomats... pul-eeeze.

Now, last I checked that bitch wasn't in charge of the CIA. At that time that person was... David Petraeus! And what was he doing while the Benghazi station house was burning? Fucking his biographer! Reason why cries for help were not answered? Agency didn't want to blow their cover with a military operation. Remember kids, hindsight is 20/20. They really thought that BS story about the movie would work... This is the kind of crap they come up with when the boss is out banging the help.

So as much as I'd like to hang this one on Hillary, it doesn't belong there. The embassy overrun in Egypt where the Marines on duty were barred from shooting back and in fact weren't issued ammo? Different story!

But who is ultimately responsible? Barack Obama.

Your welcome.

Zelda said...

Big picture, free. If everything is just as you say, Hillary is responsible for the cover up and she should be blamed until she mans up and blows the whistle.

Well folks, I couldn’t possible claim to have class. I grew up in a small farming community. My family probably would have been classified as upper-lower class or lower-middle class. I can’t say that I have accomplished anything remarkable in my lifetime. I say this to make all understand that I don’t have any illusions about myself when I say:
There used to be class barriers to holding public office. That began to change with the rise of the political machines in the large east coast cities during the 1800s. There seem to be few, if any, class barriers left today, and that has allowed trash to hold high public office. I give Lyndon Johnson and the Clintons as examples.
I believe that it is best if our elected representatives all come from the pool of people of accomplishment who pass the offices among themselves as part of the pay-back. That is what we started with. The simple way to insure that happening is to go back to paying our representatives low salaries, thereby weeding out most of today’s “professional politicians”. I am aware that many, particularly those on the left, will scream that leaves politics to only “the rich”. Good. That’s what I want. I am sick of the incompetent, the hustlers, the personable but stupid (think Biden) and the lunatic fringe dragging us all down the shitter.

Zelda said...

The perks of being an elected representative are not the salary. It's the ability to write legislation favorable to one's business interests.

I think you place far too much value on "class." The great thing about America is that our class system is so fluid - not like Europe, even to this day.

I think our problem is simply the scope of government. It's too big and no one can get a handle on the corruption. No one can even grasp the corruption. Our press is too busy finding powerful asses to lick so they can get invited to parties, and most voters don't even care that much.

CrabbyOldMan said...

I agree with Zelda that a lot of the problem is the scope of government.
I also agree that the ability to write legislation favorable to ones self, one's cronies, and the bribe payers is an important perk.
Finally I absolutely agree that our class system is based mostly on merit, in sharp contrast to the old European class system or the caste system of India.
That is why I place the high value on "class" that I do.

Zelda said...

Yeah, but "class" can be fleeting in America, so I don't think it's right to exclude the lower-middle income farmers from the political system.

CrabbyOldMan said...

Zelda, I have seen "shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations" up close because of the work I did.
"Class" involves money, but is not entirely about money. Even though the Clintons used public office to get rich, they will always be trash.
Abuse of power via excessive spending of public money on, for example, Obama style vactionsis a trash characteristic.

CrabbyOldMan said...

Trash:
People who have soup if they are buying, but order steak and lobster if someone else is buying.
Trash quickly reveals itself by the way it treats its' underlings and handles authority generally.
Does anyone else think that this describes some public figures?

Zelda said...

I can't really argue with that definition, but that has nothing to do with money.
