2016?

The Man got his first check of the New Year this morning and --though he is under Obama's magic $250,000/yr-- it certainly was much lighter than normal. He's pulling up old 'stubs' as I type, but he said at first glance his payroll tax and SS tax look to be substantially higher.

*sigh*

I know, I know. Obama will blame the Republicans for not dropping their collective pants and bending over in unison for a fiscal cliff deal.

(OT: I wish Obama and his supporters would watch/read this --Kos tried to debunk it and couldn't....)

So, given all this, naturally I was thinking about Obama's 2016 replacement. Everyone here knows I have lofty requirements for an ideal candidate...and he probably won't ever come to fruition.

But, I did happen across someone interesting that is making an appearance in the 24 hour news cycle.

New York State Senator Gregory R. Ball. Good looking guy, Valley Forge Military Academy grad, Air Force veteran, pro-life...and, you know, he had me at 'Puck:'

SENATOR BALL DROPS PUCK WITH FORMER NY RANGER FOR FREE DAY OF CHILDREN’S HOCKEY

He's currently in the news for standing behind the decision by Putnam County not to disclose the names of registered gun owners.

Senator Ball: ‘The Journal News Can Kiss My White, Irish You-Know-What’

Anyway, our NY friends can let us know what they think of this guy. I just thought he should be on the radar...

The wife and I had exactly the same conversation this morning. Between payroll taxes and more expensive medical, my paycheck took a nasty hit too.

Hey, just you remember, anything in your pocket is just the Government's money they let you temporarily keep! You are, as the ad said, owned by the Government! We all belong to it! So, just you shut up, stop whining, and be grateful they don't take it all and just send you back what they think you need. That comes later.

I can't name any good Republicans anymore.

I like Rand Paul - which means he has no chance.

Newt?

Newt? Ha! Hell no. There isn't much left of that party but a bunch of snakes fighting over the same dead mouse.

I'm voting for the pretty ones from now on. Obama has the cool factor and apparantly that's insurmountable in spite of his utter lack of accomplishments, abilities, and intelligence, so whoever is the best looking Republican is going to get my vote. And yes, I know it doesn't matter anyway, I just hate Democrats.

I think I should nominate my Doberman, so far he seems most qualified and a far better policy maker. Also, he fetches on command. And bites people when necessary.

It also dawns on me I have not friended you on facebook Zelda. Why the hell not?

gop has been a runaway clown car rodeo since Nixon, gaining speed each and every 4 years.

The new teaster gops are honking their red noses, waving rubber Chick-Fil-A’s and voting against disaster relief as the public’s cliff of toleration for them rapidly approaches.

Good luck with that, nutters.

Ribbet, impotent again.

The disaster relief that just passed without most of the pork?

Fucktard is stupid enough to poke his head in and say something about the Republicans as the democrats again refuse to do anything (other than tax) about the fiscal health of this country. You own it, dems. Even your boot-lickers in the media won't be able to shield you from it.

I'll just say now, I'm not looking forward to my taxes next year. Didn't pay anything this year, because I took a loss last year, and as far as net income, I might have taken less of a loss this year. But still, not looking forward to it, if I had even a skimp of a profit.

I can't believe those morons....but at least my Representative didn't vote for it.

Wait a minute. I thought FICA didn't count as a tax, or at least for determining who pays taxes.

CrabbyOldMan said...

I agree that FICA was not a tax in the normal sense of the word when those funds were kept segregated from general revenues to help preserve the fiction that Social Security was "insurance". That was before before Lyndon Johnson grabbed the "Trust Funds" to help "balance" the regular budget.

Speaking of low information Democrat voters- go have a good laugh at this link. The poster self deleted, but the comments are still there and are priceless.

HA. HA. HA. HA. HA. HA. HA. YOU STUPID FUCKING BASTARDS.

It has to be a tax otherwise it would be unconstitutional. What it really is is a forced contribution to the government in exchange for a bankrupt retirement/healthcare program. But just go ahead and try explaining that to the low information voters Obama has wooed with PSY and JayZ and Honey Boo Boo. All they know is that their taxes went up when Obama promised they wouldn't.

Hilarious Zelda. I'm pretty sure Honey Boo Boo represents the Republican southeast. I.E. Georgia where she lives.

Also mighty convenient to blame Obama. Aren't you one that screamed that the fiscal cliff issue adds to the deficit? Take this out of the deal and watch the deficit really soar.

I'm pretty convinced you are one of those uninformed voters that think that we can cut foreign aid to solve our deficit problems. I don't think you have any idea what our government costs, and what we spend it on.

When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.

Nope. She said she supported Marack Obama, which, in low-information Democrat speak, is actually Barack Obama. And why shouldn't her family support him?

Aren't you one that screamed that the fiscal cliff issue adds to the deficit?

Of course. But what's the point of raising taxes when the program is insolvent and the Democrats refuse to reform it?

Take this out of the deal and watch the deficit really soar.

Duh. But tell that to the moron Obama voters whose taxes he just raised. They thought the rich could pay for all of it. And didn't you support the initial payroll tax cut? Why? Raising the payroll tax might mean a slightly smaller deficit, but you're still not going to benefit from the programs. They are bankrupt.

I'm pretty convinced you are one of those uninformed voters that think that we can cut foreign aid to solve our deficit problems.

Nope, although I would prefer that not even a penny of our money go to psychotic religious totalitarians. But entitlement spending is what is driving our debt. We have too many old people taking money, not enough young people to steal from, and a bloated, corrupt, wasteful government. Nothing you argue about addresses this simple fact.

I don't think you have any idea what our government costs, and what we spend it on.

Boo Boo, you don't have the intellectual capacity to make that judgment. You haven't made a coherent argument yet. Why did you support Obama's initial payroll tax cut and now defend the tax raise? This doesn't speak to your knowledge of the subject so much as it does a drooling, glassy eyed devotion to Obama no matter how little sense his policies make.
