We kid about Obama being The Messiah to these freaks, but, really, Jim, Nate, Anony-mouse, with years of children singing his praises, making his logo a halo, people fainting at his rallies, magazines putting him on covers with light behind his head, people going orgasmic when meeting him, and now this twit elevating him to being Jesus Christ, who IS the Messiah to so many, it is not fully a joke any more. Obama can do NOTHING that will cause these nit wits to look askance at him.
Amend the Constitution to get The One a third term? Won’t be surprised if the topic arises in all seriousness. I mean, not just dim bulbs like Jeanine Garofolo or Chris Matthews, but serious statist actors like Pelosi or Reid. Not Hillary, of course.
It grosses me out, but it doesn't surprise me. The Left wants a king - a benevolent king, to be sure, but still a king. And since this is America, why not the King of Kings?
It is impossible to have a common sense discussion with people who have no common sense. After Obama has driven this country over the cliff the survivors may have a chance to begin again with common sense basics, but that is a long time off.
As an avowed atheist I have noticed that often people replace religious beliefs with objectification of certain people, often political leaders such as Obama, or adopt alternative faith beliefs such as radical environmentalism. Some people are just not ready for being totally responsible for their lives... they need a God, and liberalism for many seems to fill that void.
As a Catholic, I agree with you. The thing is, I'd rather put faith in a God who requires you to be responsible for your own life, than put faith in a government or politician.
I think that Free0352 is right on the money. I argued in a high school class a long time ago that it made little difference to any fanatic whether it be a Communist fanatic, a Nazi fananatic or a religious fanatic. It is a physcological thing and just a matter of who gets to the person first. I leave the reaction to your imaginination
I actually don't quite agree with that, Crabby. Fanatics are all dangerous, but the atheist communists and the atheist Nazis are particularly deadly because they cloak their fanaticism with an appeal to science and logic.

Mental illness is a very kind description.
