Are You Better Off?

"Ask yourself, 'Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Is it easier for you to go and buy things in the stores than it was four years ago? Is there more or less unemployment in the country than there was four years ago? Is America as respected throughout the world as it was?”

-Ronald Reagan V. Jimmy Carter, Presidential debate, Oct. 28, 1980

or Obama-phones apparently. This photo was sent by Salt1907:

Cell phones are now a necessity? Didn't Americans live successfully for a few hundred years before them? Seriously, what's next? Uggs? Keurigs? Gas cards?

People can't understand how Obama can possibly be ahead in the polls. Well, give 'em free phones!

Nice new website in progress WIP)!

The only necessity for them is to buy votes from the addle pated in any manner they can. See the video below. Obama and his crew have failed.

I do not bandie that word around lightly, as many pols do, to say for its own sake "The president's failed policies blah blah blah..." If the leftist/statist concept worked, it would have done so in the many decades that the Democrats had very strong control of our political system. They blather mindlessly that the ONLY reason their theories have not worked is that the eeevvviiilll Republicans have withstood them. Bullshit.

Reducing the productive will not raise the unproductive. Bringing down the successful will not assist the unsuccessful. But then, they do not so much want our success for themselves as they want us to fail. They do not want out assets for themselves so much as they want us to lose those assets. Their victory is to drag everything down to their level, with, of course, the elites living very high on the proles whose lives they administer.

ALa, I have been unable to make comments for several months. So it is nice to be able to comment again, even if your current process is tied up with google.

“Why is he behind then?” Crowley asked.

“He’s behind because I think Americans probably feel better than they did before jobs and the economy,” he said, “even though it’s terrible.”

Crowley asked McCain to elaborate, and McCain replied, “I think Americans see a glimmer of hope. There is slight improvement in the economy.” And in some important electoral states, unemployment is down, and that contributes to the “glimmer of hope.”

After four years of hope, change, and bullshit they see a "glimmer" of hope? That "glimmer" must be Romney because Obama hasn't done anything positive to the economy, and anybody with over a room-temperature IQ knows he couldn't do anything positive with another four.

Doesn't hurt that Obama managed to avoid sequestration in the DoD sector till after the elections.

I seriously doubt that Romney is behind. I don't trust most of the polls in the least.

My wife and I are luckier than most. We are still in the same jobs as we were 4 years ago. One the other hand, our salaries aren't keeping up with inflation. Bonuses have pretty much evaporated, and we are pretty pessimistic about our careers.

4 Years ago I was much more optimistic than I am now.
