Economic Equality is Impossible 101

After watching MTV's True Life: I'm Occupying Wall Street and HBO's Reagan documentary this weekend, I have been thinking a lot about the fight over the economy.

More than two decades later, Reaganomics are still being debated --and some in that documentary argued that it was Reagan's 'trickle down' policies that caused the ongoing extinction of the middle class.

The OWSers want "economic equality," but what does that even mean?

Even if we stripped each and every American of what they currently have and gave them an acre of ground, a bag of seed and a horse...

There would be a group that got up at 4 am and planted the seed, worked deals to breed the horse and made the most of the land. Then there would be those that slept until 11, roasted and ate the seeds, sold the horse and ended up working for the first guy.

Forget spreading the wealth, we need to find a way to spread work ethic. Until there is work ethic equality, there can't be economic equality. Why is this very simple fact never acknowledged by the OWSers?

Oh right, because we're dealing with people that hope to make social change by lying in a park. Yeah, they would have definitely eaten the seeds...
