Speaking of the Westboro Baptist 'Church'

The law seems to favor the Westboro Baptists freaks over the average citizen...

Remember the court that ordered Matthew Snyder's father, Albert Snyder, to pay $16,000 in legal fees to Fred Phelps(D) and his Westboro Baptist "Church" (they had 'protested at his son's funeral)?

And now this...

"26-year-old Ryan Newell — a veteran who lost both legs in Afghanistan — has been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and other crimes against Westboro Baptist Church. Church members have been staging protests at soldiers' funerals, saying that the death of soldiers is God's way of punishing the country for homosexuality. Veterans across the country are offering to pay for his defense..." (SOURCE)

Found this information on a different site:

"He was arrested after trailing a van carrying WBC members to Wichita's City Hall, where they were to meet with police officials. Detectives apprehended Newell parked in his vehicle, where they confiscated two handguns, a rifle and more than 90 rounds of ammunition. "The weapons charges," reports The Wichita Eagle, "accuse him of unlawfully carrying and concealing or possessing with 'intent to use' an M4 rifle, .45-caliber Glock handgun and .38-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun." Agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives later recovered additional firearms from Newell's home... (SOURCE)

This sucks...here's this veteran that lost his legs in an explosion that killed some of his fellow soldiers that might very well now be incarcerated because he had to have "God loves dead soldiers" signs shoved in his face...

It's stories like this that remind me that they're not just a joke --that to a combat veteran and soldiers/marines suffering from PTSD, this could push them over the edge...
