Gore: Once Again Confronted With an Inconvenient Truth
I have to fist give credit where credit is due... Al Gore is certainly sticking to his faux-green guns and showed up to speak in Copenhagen despite the "hacked" climate emails and the fact that he's still eating meat and flying in private jets (possibly simultaneously...)
And lucky for us he did speak, because we know that when the Goracle speaks...blog fodder happens.
"These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years." (source)
First off, writer Don Surber asks what's was so wrong with an Arctic Ocean without ice and then rightfully points out that an ice-free Mediterranean seems to be working out... ;) (source)
But, of course that isn't the end of the story because it is Gore we're talking about... "In reaction to Gore, Dr. Maslowski: “It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at. I would never try to estimate likelihood of anything as exact as this."
So even other scientists that are still claiming the world is melting are giving vague time lines and if pressed say some time around 2013...but Gore steps onto the world stage and cries the sky is falling in 2014? Wow. ...And Republicans are fear-mongers?
