This morning I realized it wasn't even an original idea--it was definitely pilfered...and not even from a previous campaign, but from a movie.
In "Evan Almighty", released June of 1997, Steve Carell plays a Congressman that gets elected with the campaign slogan "Change the World.". I couldn't find an instance of Obama using the slogan "Change" until months after that.
Though, I guess it shouldn't be surprising that Obama would lift a slogan from a comedy about a Chosen One...
