Justifiable Homicide?

I just got the tweet from RedState and as far as I can's true.

Infamous late-term abortion doctor, George Tiller (who I have posted about numerous times, was shot and killed in his Lutheran church this morning.

"... The attorney for George Tiller says the late-term abortion provider was shot and killed Sunday at his Wichita church.

Attorney Dan Monnat said Tiller, one of the nation's most visible and strident advocates for abortion rights, was shot as he served as an usher during morning services at Reformation Lutheran Church. Monnat said Tiller's wife, Jeanne, was in the choir at the time of the shooting..." (source)

I have mixed emotions, in the sense that I want to tell my children that vigilante justice is wrong and we must go through the appropriate channels to maintain a country of law and order...but Tiller was an unapologetic mass murderer...with no chance of being stymied in the era of O.

  • ...Though I might not agree with Tiller's killer, I wouldn't go as far as Cal Thomas and compare him to the 9/11 terrorists.

  • ...I would, however, be seriously suspect of anyone that would attend a candle light vigil for the man.

  • "I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence." -Barack Obama, May 31, 2009

What Obama continually fails to comprehend us that he not only accepted, but voted in favor of Tiller's "heinous acts of violence."

  • UPDATE 2

  • columnist Gabriel Winant is (basically) accusing Bill O'Reilly of personally inciting Tiller's murder. This columnist obviously has no clue that Tiller had been public enemy #1 in pro-life circles LONG before O'Reilly starting talking about him...

  • What I am about to link is the MOST disturbing anti-abortion/Tiller video I have seen to date. If you are already an anti-abortion advocate you have no reason to subject yourself to this. If you have ever vacillated in your position on this matter, if you find yourself feeling empathy toward Tiller, and especially if you proudly call yourself pro-choice...I wish I could force you to watch. I can't, but you should. You owe it to yourswlf to have all the information before you say you support something...IMO anyway.

    Annual Blonde Sagacity "Feet" PSA

Unfortunately I have already seen quite a few violators and it isn't even officially summer...that rampant feet faux pas elucidate the need for the yearly re-posting of:

    The Open Toed Shoe Pledge

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:

  • I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

  • I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.

  • I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

  • I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

  • I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

  • I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother or sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

  • If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

  • I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

  • I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' size. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

  • I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

  • I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

  • I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

  • I will promise to go my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $30 and worth EVERY penny). (Personally, I think one should go every two weeks...)

  • I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

  • Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters...

    Sign the Pledge, __________________________________

(And MEN, you're not exempt. if you are going to wear Reefs or some other acceptable open-toed male footwear...PLEASE make sure your nails are trimmed and not the color of lemonade and that foot hairs are trimmed. Your effort will be appreciated by all. Thanks.)

    21 Kids on Your Dime

"...A man aged 29 has fathered 21 children with 11 different women, it emerged yesterday.

Desmond Hatchett's brood came to light after authorities in Tennessee in the U.S. took him to court for non-payment of child support.

He has apparently set a U.S. record but said: 'It just happened.'

Hatchett, who earns a minimal wage, told TV reporters he knows the names and ages of all his offspring.

Their ages range from newborn to 11 years old.

Authorities in Knoxville said they plan to take half of his monthly salary to pay for the youngsters but officials said that would work out to just over [$1.61] a week for each.

His lawyer Keith Pope said: 'The children can't all be supported by Desmond, so the state of Tennessee has had to step in.'

Many Knoxville residents called for him to be castrated.

He even boasted of fathering four children by different women in the same year..." (source)

I have to wonder what the staunchest Libertarian, or the Cato Institute, would say about this... How many kids do taxpayers foot the bill for before those taxpayers get a say? This is disgusting and each and every one of the 11 mothers should have a psych eval. Ugh.

    Can YOU Define These Words?

In case you hadn't seen this, the Oxford English Dictionary has added 15 words in its current revision...well, more than 15, but these 15 warrant closer inspection (and reflection?)...

I think I'll just give you the words and you can guess the meanings...except #1 cause God only knows what you freaks will come up with for that! haha...

    Are Views on Abortion Changing?

I came across this article linked over at The Conservative Grapevine... It was so good I really wanted to reprint it verbatim. The article is addressing the latest Gallup poll that showed more Americans being pro-life than pro-choice. David Harsanyi's Denver Post article addresses his drift from (the dreaded) moral relativism to a conscience about a fetus. I can relate as I have vacillated over the past three years on my death penalty stance...

"...As an atheist and a secular kinda guy, I practice moral relativism regularly. Still, I've always struggled mightily with the ethics and politics of abortion. Apparently, I'm not alone.

A new Gallup poll claims that for the first time since 1995, when the question was first asked by the organization, most Americans consider themselves to be "pro-life" rather than "pro-choice."

The straightforward question asked of participants was this: "With respect to the abortion issue, would you consider yourself to be pro-choice or pro-life?" Fifty-one percent responded that they were pro-life and 42 percent said they were pro-choice. These percentages are the reverse found in the same poll in 2006.

What happened? Is it possible that the nation has undergone a gigantic attitudinal shift on the fundamental issue of abortion in only three years' time? Logically, it seems that the entire framing of the debate has become antiquated and far too simplistic for the questions we face. Anecdotally, I would say it's possible.

I know I've changed my views.

After a life of being pro-choice, I began to seriously ponder the question. I oppose the death penalty because there is a slim chance that an innocent person might be executed and I don't believe the state should have the authority to take a citizen's life. So don't I owe an nascent human life at least the same deference? Just in case?" (Read the rest of the article!!)

    Three Words

I'll admit it, I was a Twitter naysayer.

But now I'm into it. Not like others perhaps. I could care less that I'm on Twitter, and I could certainly care less that any stupid celeb is there...but Free Republic, the Cato Institute, John Hawkins, Gay Patriot, Red State, FNC, the Weekly Standard and Drudge (and many others) have all kept me completely in the news loop regardless of where I am. I was able to inform everyone at the nail salon yesterday that the Philly mom that claimed to have been kidnapped was actually in Disney World...all because I was reading my peep's tweets during my pedi.

There's also silly things that take "3 words you don't want to hear after sex" (I take Visa) or "crappy Superhero names" (Captain Codpiece) --and I thought I'd pilfer one of them for today:

If I Were An Obama Adviser...

I would strongly advise he take Ahmadinejad up on his challenge to debate the President at the United Nations:

"...Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is calling for a face-to-face debate with his American counterpart Barack Obama at the United Nations.

The offer by Ahmadinejad came at news conference Monday as he steps up his campaign for his re-election in the June 12 presidential vote.

If returned to office, Ahmadinejad says he wants to meet Obama during the U.N. General Assembly in September to debate "world issues and the way toward peace." (source)

This is a total win-win for Obama. The right might hate him and hope he fails, but they(we) hate holocaust denier Mahmoud Ahmadinejad much more. We would have to root for our country's president (Obama) in this match up. It's the only way I can see Obama garnering our good will barring some catastrophic event.

...Hey Rahm, you're welcome for the free advice.

    An Interview With A Zombie

Anyone that comes here knows that I rely heavily on when I need examples of far left signs, thinking and hatred. A few years ago, Zombie graciously consented to grant me a written interview (which is now a source on the Zombietime Wikipedia page)

Since there are so many new readers in these parts, I decided to re-post the interview with the famous for being anonymous protest photographer, Zombie.

    originally posted on 8/7/06...

Zombie was gracious enough to take time from the busy schedule of protest documenting and answered a few questions. I am well aware that an interview with Zombie is rare event, so I am expressing my very sincere gratitude both for the replies and all the time put into creating an incredible photojournalistic experience...

1)I know that you are very protective of your anonymity and that it's crucial to getting the amazing shots that you continually people in your "real life" know you do this -or is your online persona completely separate and secret?

"The two halves of my life are completely and totally separate. No one in "the real world" has any idea that I do anything at all online, and certainly don't know I'm "zombie." They don't even know what my political outlook is. And no one online has any idea what my real name is -- not even my closest online colleagues know. Nor do they know anything about me -- age, gender, ethnicity, religion, location. All purposely a complete mystery."

    2) Does it get frustrating that you have to remain so anonymous considering you have received so much blog recognition and can't really enjoy the praise?

"No, it's not frustrating. I don't do it for the "praise." I do it to make a difference in the world. I suppose there are different personality types in this world -- those who enjoy public or personal recognition for their achievements, and those who enjoy being a "secret agent." I fall in the second category. But, due to safety concerns, I couldn't ever "go public" anyway; I receive threats almost every day from my "fans." My best and only protection is that no one knows who I am."

    3) Have you thought of compiling a book of all the best pictures (the anti-war anarchist scrotum inflators comes to mind) you have taken? Have you been approached about that?

"I'm not particularly interested in making a book out of my pictures. Books are an "old media" phenomenon, the exact kind of thing I'm trying to get away from. And, to be frank, most books sell very few copies -- 5,000 copies sold is considered doing very well for most books (aside from major bestsellers, of course, which comprise less than 1/10th of 1% of all books). I probably get more visitors to my site in one day than I would ever get grand total from a book.

That said, my zombie photos have appeared in two books already -- Michelle Malkin's Unhinged, and a college textbook about media analysis, that used my "Anatomy of a Photograph" as one of its chapters. My pictures have also been on TV several times, and even in a museum exhibit."

    4) When you infiltrate these rallies do you hide your camera? Do you dress to fit in or bring a sign so no one suspects you?

"You're starting to pry a little too deeply! I can't reveal much on that topic, although I can say this: I have a variety of strategies, depending on the circumstances. Sometimes I use a hidden camera, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I march with the very protesters I'm documenting (as can be seen in my Nov. 3, 2004 report, when I joined up with a bunch of anarchists who went off to wreak havoc). Other times I'll stand with pro-America counter-protesters to see things from that angle. Or maybe I'll just pose as a passerby, a curious tourist. From one protest to the next, you'll never know what I may look like, or what persona I may be in."

    5) Have you ever been confronted about why you are taking pictures or who you are taking pictures for?

"Twice. Both under very stressful circumstances, when I felt physically endangered. Because of the potential security breach, I ended up not publishing a report about one of the events, because I didn't want it known that zombie had even been there. The other event I made a report on it under a pseudo-pseudonym; it was put online by someone else and viewed by hundreds of thousands of people, but the author was not identified as "zombie" but as someone else entirely. I needed to do this to show that the zombie specifically was not there that day, but someone else was."

    6) What has been the most disturbing thing you have witnessed at these rallies/protests?

"Well, the most disturbing things happened at the one event mentioned above that I never made a report out of. So I can't really talk about it. Extremely distressing.

Aside from that one incident, the most disturbing thing in general is the overt anti-Semitism and support for terrorism that is so commonly displayed at these things. I know that's not a very exciting answer, but every individual event and incident seems more upsetting than the last."

    7) The reason I have stayed away from far-left rallies, or haven't walked with Protest Warrior, is I am afraid I couldn't keep my mouth shut... How do you prepare to go on these shoots and how do you wind down when you get home?

"I have an extremely calm demeanor. Nothing ruffles me. I can mingle elbow-to-elbow with the most loathsome creatures and not blink an eye or say a word. I know that the greatest revenge is to maintain my equanimity and document what these people are doing, and show it to the world. Afterward, I don't need to calm down or anything -- I've gotten used to it by now.

The truth is, there's so much intense moonbattery in the Bay Area on a daily basis, that the protests are not much more extreme than what I see every single day. It's just that at protests, all the craziness is concentrated in one place, and is thus more photogenic. But the beliefs expressed are par for the course for my cultural milieu, so I don't get any more worked up about them than I do on a regular day."

    8) Considering you have been in attendance at so many of these rallies/protests, I am interested to know whether you think the media downplays the number in attendance (as those groups often suggest) or if the media inflates them?

"To be frank, I don't trust my own "crowd estimation" skills, so I often don't know myself how many people are in attendance. Plus, I general don't pay much attention to what the other media are saying, so I don't know what numbers they're estimating anyway."

    9) Many times in pictures and in video it seems the "peace protestors" look hostile, angry and often resort to violence when confronted --do you find that to be true or is that just small moments captured that don't represent the whole of the movement?

"The term "peace protesters" is just an Orwellian euphemism. Maybe 5% of the people at a typical event are in reality "peaceniks"; the other 95% are simply on the side of the enemy. That's one of the main points of my photos -- to show where their sympathies really lie. And because they're not really "peace protesters," they are free to be as violent and hostile as they want. Of course, it usually takes something to rile them up. The vast majority of the time, there is no violence at a rally. Only when they see some pro-American counter-protesters, or encounter the police, or get whipped into a frenzy by a demagogic speaker. But that only happens sometimes. Generally, the hostility is in their belief system, not in their demeanor."

    10) Many people claim most of these protests are populated with "career protestors" --the same people that were marching against Vietnam and the Gulf War. As a first hand observer, do you feel these groups are recruiting new members?

"Yes, there are a lot of career protesters - -'60s retreads who having their second adolescence. And adolescence is a good word to describe it. They were childish in the '60s, and now as old folks they're still childish. And, sadly, yes, they are "recruiting new members," if you can call it that, though the recruiting is not done by the protesters themselves but by the professors and teachers and media members throughout our society, who intentionally propagandize the "youth" to faux-rebellion. But these young protesters will for the most part grow out of it, just as most of the '60s protesters did back then. Only the hardcore psychos still go out protesting."

    11) If you could say something to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan that feel these groups represent a majority of American thought -what would it be?

"I don't make my photo reports to claim that the protesters are "taking over" the country, or that they represent mainstream opinion: I do it to show just how extreme and anti-American they really are. And I have to do this because the mainstream media wants you to believe that the "anti-war movement" is both huge, mainstream, and reasonable. It is not. I would estimate that perhaps 20% of the American population agrees with these protesters, and the other 80% don't. And that other 80% would really hate them if they just knew what the protesters' beliefs really were. Which is why I try to expose them.

There is also a strong geographical and regional component to this whole thing. Anti-American sentiment is common only in certain neighborhoods of certain cities in certain areas of certain states. San Francisco/northern California; parts of Los Angeles; parts of New England; college towns and urban areas in the upper Midwest. That's where 90% of the anti-American sentiment is located. Out in the rest of "normal" America, you would never see any of this.

The "anti-war" movement is really an "anti-American movement," even if many of the people participating in it themselves aren't conscious of how hateful they have become. The media tries to demoralize the country by portraying the anti-war movement as reasonable, widespread, and destined for victory. But in fact it is a hate-fueled fringe movement that only maintains even a hint of credibility due to media misrepresentation. That's something I'm trying to correct.

I could get into a long essay about the overall culture wars in America, of which this is just one part, but there’s no space for that here. Just know that the values of freedom and democracy, as represented by the United States, are as strong as ever, and that the forces that want to tear down Western Civilization are ultimately doomed to be unsuccessful."

Thank you Zombie --it was great to put a "voice" to the force behind the camera. I know it's "old media", but I would certainly put a "Real Look at the American Left" book on my coffee table.

Music Post from My The Man (aka tesco)

Six months later and I'm doing fine. I never thought I'd be able to say that.. I was only blogging for around 4 years but while I was at it, I couldn't remember what life was like before the blahhgs. It was good. Now, it's good again. It's still a little odd not turning my computer on as soon as I wake up in the morning, get home from work, wake up in the middle of the night.. It's cool though. Now I can just write a post for my wife every now and then to satisfy my itch.

    So here we go.

What will our beloved tesco write about today? I know it sounds crazy, but I'm gonna write about music. I would love to turn you on to some new, amazing band but there just doesn't seem to be any of those anymore. I'd say it's because I'm just getting old and out of touch but after running an MP3 site and and a music blog for 4 years, I still get a lot of emails from recording companies and promoters pushing new bands. I'm still getting my taste of new music and most of the time, it still sucks. I don't blame the musicians though, really, what are they gonna play that hasn't been played a million times at this point? After all the associated genres attached to Punk how could there possibly be anything now that could knock you out like that?
I've decided, as a musician and lover of music, there can't be.

I have run across some interesting DJ work though: It's called "Mash-Ups". At first listen you may react like I did and assume that this is all just more sampling and anyone could pull this off.. but as you continue to listen, you'll realize that it does take a trained ear to match up the rhythms and beats from the different tunes to pull off a decent sounding track. The following video should give most of you a pretty good idea what I mean. It also consists of two songs that almost
    everyone knows.

    Party Ben's Led Snooppelin:

In my searches, I found a site with tons of good ones. He seems to use more, umm, less known bands tied with well known bands: ToTom's Mash-Ups
You gotta check out "Young Americans Stand Up". It's David Bowie's, Young Americans mixed with Prodigy's, Stand Up.

Well, just like the old days, I'm up late writing this post. The bad part is, I'm no good at writing posts, so now this is just keeping me up. Fear not though, I will return every now and then to check in on you kids and feed you some new tunes to chew on.. as soon as I find some worth posting. Until then, stay out of trouble, be good to yourself and don't let it get you down.

Forget about the last thing I said, I could really care less.

Sonia Sotomayor: Far, Far Left Judge for SCOTUS

It's almost official. Obama is set to announce at 10:15 am EST.

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.” -Sonia Sotomayer (source)

Sonia Sotomayor seems to be the farthest left of all the possibilities that have been floated since Souter's resignation announcement, but lucky for us Obama himself set a precedent of filibustering a SCOTUS nominee when he did so with Justice Alito. And his own words ring true to me when it comes to Sotomayor:

"...We need to recognize, because Judge Alito [change to Sotomayor] will be confirmed, that, if we’re going to oppose a nominee that we’ve got to persuade the American people that, in fact, their values are at stake,” Obama said.

“There’s one way to guarantee that the judges who are appointed to the Supreme Court are judges that reflect our values. And that’s to win elections,” Obama said. (source)

Their values ARE at stake...this woman has said "court of appeals is where policy is made." (source)

Here is an interesting read about Obama's far-left pick...and another at SCOTUS Blog.

Great American rags to riches story or not, shouldn't that sweater alone be enough to disqualify her?!

Democrats and Christians Are Not Synonymous

    So says Liberty University.

"...Liberty University has ordered its fledgling College Democrats club to shut down, saying the group stands against the conservative Christian school's moral principles.

Club president Brian Diaz said he was shocked to be notified by e-mail last week that the club was being banned by the private university in Lynchburg founded by the late Rev. Jerry Falwell. The university first recognized it in the fall.

"We were shocked, as well, that (the club) even got accepted. It was huge, and we were glad that Liberty did that," Diaz said in a telephone interview from Orlando, Fla.

The club is barred from using Liberty's name, advertising events and holding meetings on campus. Violators could be reprimanded and face expulsion for repeated offenses..." (source)

Of course there are some that will have knee-jerk, angry reactions to this --like the 7 year old (?) Kos Kid that quickly penned a letter to Liberty informing them that they should disband the Conservative groups because Jesus never owned a gun. So deep and profound! Funny, she tells them to read the Bible, but obviously she hasn't as she doesn't realize it's a book wrought with war...

But LU has a right to keep it's name from any club. It's a private school that doesn't take government money. It's an evangelical school that opposes abortion, that doesn't condone sex before marriage, gay marriage or homosexuality at all... They're not trying to be mean or discriminate...they are following the Bible. And I know these people. Everyone I went to high school with went to Liberty University or Messiah College.

People act like it's so radical when others actually follow through with what they believe. I guess that is radical in America 2009...the rejection of moral relativism.

I totally get it though. I've said it before and I wasn't being facetious or purposefully incendiary...that I wonder how anyone that claims to be a Christian (like an actual accept Jesus as your Savior Christian, not an "I'm a spiritual person" christian) could have voted for Obama --someone that is so radically pro-abortion. So I get LU's decision. They can't jive how a true born again Christian align themselves with a platform that condones so many things that are clearly against Biblical teachings...

Ya know what annoys me most, if this were Imam University telling students that couldn't have a Pig Club or a Woman Rock club, it wouldn't have even made the news...

I realize that although the torture/not torture debate will rage on, basically, minds are already made up and the possibility of them changing is slim.

BUT, as I was watching this video of 'Conservative' shock jock Mancow get waterboarded and exclaim that it's finally hit me why it's not. Because as much as it totally SUCKED (which no one has denied), when it's over he's able to sit and talk about the experience. It's OVER as soon as the water stops. There are no lasting effects, no bleeding, no broken bones. he's able to discuss what happen. Yes, he's shaken but he's able bodied and minded.

Unlike John McCain when the VC were finished with him. And unlike Nick Berg or Daniel Pearl when Islam was done with them.

So I'm adding "lasting effects" to MY definition of TORTURE.

    Caption It...

    Memorial Day Observed

First, I would like to voice my displeasure with Google --they design so many elaborate pictures for their home page for each and every holiday, artist's birthday or minor happening around the world...and what does the homepage look like on this day of remembrance?

Nothing at all intertwined with their name...just a small yellow ribbon with no scroll over. Pathetic.

    (**Originally posted 5/29/06**)

***Listen while you read... (right click and 'Open Link in new tab')***

"The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice:

    * by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes.

    * by visiting memorials.

    * by flying the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.

    * by flying the 'POW/MIA Flag' as well (Section 1082 of the 1998 Defense Authorization Act).

    * by participating in a "National Moment of Remembrance": at 3 p.m. to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be played.

    * by renewing a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our falled dead, and to aid the disabled veterans.

    Cheney Fights for America

Why would Dick Cheney be putting himself out there? He doesn't want to be President. He doesn't need money. I doubt he cares about his "legacy" with a media that despises him regardless of what he does.

Maybe because he honestly believes Obama is hurting the country?

I haven't had time to check either of the Troll Holes (DU or Kos) to find out why the Obamatrons and Sheeple think he's out there, but I'm sure it would be an interesting read...

The MSM keeps asking whether a VP questioning the current administration this soon is par for the course and from their line of questioning we infer that Cheney just jumped into the limelight to excoriate Obama. Wrong. The Obama administration prompted Cheney from his undisclosed location by challenging the methods that have kept America without an attack for the past 8 years.

Shepard Smith read a supposed letter from a family that watches his show -the paraphrased version:

Dear Shep, Our family has been life-long Republicans, but we are switching our registration as of today because of Dick Cheney. Because he's out there, it seems as if he 'dost protest too much." The Loser Family

I hate when news organizations give even a moment to letters like this that were obviously written by a Kos Kid and they collectively sniggered when FNC actually read it. That would be like a "life-long Democrat" changing political affiliation over Nancy Pelosi's speaking out at the CIA. So because someone is mad at Pelosi they're going to forget about their ideology as a person and all their other beliefs and switch to the party with the polar opposite values? So.Ridiculous. Shame on you Shep.

Alright, I had to is one of the riffs from the DU (I had to take out the title because it wasn't WS):

"What a scene you painted today. On the one hand was the first duly elected president in eight years, giving a speech in front of the actual Constitution of the United States. On the other hand is a former high level government official, now a *private citizen*, making some disgruntled remarks at the privately owned, right wing, borderline terrorist, offices of a right wing funded group.

Why did you choose to not only cover the later with the same fake gravitas as the former, but to equate them by virtue of that coverage? Are you lazy, stupid, or owned? Never mind. You are at least two of the three.

To MSNBC, specifically, shame on you. You grow closer to Politico each day. For all your vaunted 'liberal' night time lineup, you use your power not to report truth, but to catapult the right wing spew no less than you ever did. You're just more sneaky about it. That slimeball, gnome-like, motherfucker, Jack Welch clearly still holds sway at 30 Rock. Shame on you. You're the worst of the worst. Faux, at least, does not pretend what they are. YOU DO.

    To NBC, see above.

To ABC, you got nothin'. Charlie Gibson? He sucked in the morning. He sucks worse at night.

To CBS, ask yourself why the kids on South Park measure the potency of turds in Courics.

But today ..... all of you ...... outdid yourselves. You put that draft dodging, not-near-enough-to-death, snarling WAR CRIMINAL on the same level as a decent man who was actually elected by the majority of voters to lead this country.

    Shame on you all."
(source -and I use the word lightly here)

So, aside from Shep Smith's Loser family, I'm pretty sure the 58+ million of us that voted against Obama's policies for this country know that Cheney has nothing to gain by putting himself out there --other than to defend his ideology and point to its success in keeping us safe since 9/11/01. But I'm assuming this motivation will never cross Paul Krugman's little mind or find it's way into the drive-by's publications.

...or maybe it all the angst about Cheney really has nothing to do with his policies at all and stems from, ya know, ....envy. :)

    Real Life Horror Show

I wasn't going to post about this, but I haven't been able to get this 4 year old boy out of my mind...

"...Police believe a Bakersfield man bit the eyeball out of his son's face and ate it, according to court documents. The 4-year-old's other eye was damaged beyond repair, reports said.

The boy's missing eye could not be located, reports said, and he told a detective, ''Daddy ate my eyes.''

Prosecutors have charged Angelo Vidal Mendoza Sr., 34, with mayhem, torture and child cruelty. He's being held in the downtown jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Neighbors called police on April 28 and reported they found the child naked and bleeding on the floor of the Mendoza home on Ohio Drive, near Highway 58 and Union Avenue.

Police located the wheel-chair-bound Mendoza at a nearby house, where he had severely injured his own leg, witnesses said, by chopping at it with an ax.

The boy had severe injuries to both eyes and hands, according to a police report. He told officers, ''Daddy bit my eyes and hands.''

Hospital staff told detectives the boy's ''left eye and muscle was gone and missing.''

His ''right eye was still in the socket but damaged beyond repair,'' the report said.

The boy ''later made the statement, 'Daddy ate my eyes,''the report said.(source)

This poor child...hopefully with the right publicity, the public can ensure that the system doesn't fail this boy again.

    Politics At Its Worst

There is A LOT at stake for unions across the country that are currently bleeding members (and have been for years). They feel as if Obama is in the Oval Office thanks to them --and they want their pay the form of the Employee Free Choice Act (aka Card Check).

Arlen Specter says he won't support the anti-American legislation, but the AFL-CIO is promising to kiss his brass ring if he changes his mind. There is an article claiming that Specter's staff claimed they will trash all letters in support of the card Check legislation...maybe because they know the unions pass out form letters and force encourage their members to put a signature on them...

BUT, you have to watch this ad that's currently running here in Pennsylvania. It's SO disingenuous...I know a lot of political ads are, but this ad by American Rights at Work blatantly relying on the public's ignorance (telling for a union representative to rely on ignorance and apathy).

How does being against the loss of private ballots (a quintessentially AMERICAN right) render you aligned with "greedy CEOs", "big business" and/or "Washington Lobbyists"? We should make an ad informing the union members that their leaders and 'advocates' think they are mindless drones --how else can this ad be explained?

And speaking of Arlen, I wonder if his recent siding with Nancy Pelosi is a way of schmoozing with the Dems without totally jumping in bed with the unions...

    Helping Hand or Big Brother?

"...An arrest warrant has been issued for the mother of a 13-year-old boy from Minnesota with cancer who fled with her son and missed a court hearing yesterday about the boys welfare.

    The adolescent has refused chemotherapy.

A judge in Brown County, Minnesota has ordered that 13-year-old Daniel Hauser be placed in a foster home. Meanwhile, police are looking for the boy and his mother after they missed a Tuesday court hearing on his welfare.

Phil Elbert, Daniel’s Court Appointed Attorney, said “I’m very angry that Daniel isn’t here. I needed his input. I am his advocate and he is not here, I can’t do my job.“

Daniel has Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer that’s considered highly curable with chemotherapy and radiation. Daniel quit chemo after one treatment. His parents opted instead for alternative medicines, citing religious beliefs. That led authorities to seek custody..." (source)

I am REALLY torn with this case. The anti-government flame within me (which Obama has stoked to an all time high) burns with resentment that a government can step in an impose it's will for a child and simply nullify the parents' wishes/beliefs.

BUT, does this fall under the category of child abuse? We want the State to step in when children are being hurt... Is this a simple case of saving a child or is this a slippery slope into government having more say over our offspring than we do?

The 13 year old says he doesn't want the chemo, but psychologically he really is too young to understand the full ramifications of that decision...

I can make a compelling argument in my head for either side here and I hate when that happens...

    Michelle Obama is "HOT"?!

Really? I mean, are you serious? I had a hard enough time trying to stomach the fact that she has been heralded as a fashion icon...but Maxim magazine's '100 Hottest Women'?! On the same list with my girl-crush Megan Fox? ...And higher on the list than Padma?!

"...For the first time the U.S. First Lady has made Maxim magazine's annual top 100 list of "hottest women in the world," with Michelle Obama making the grade at number 93.

Billed as the "stimulus package America really needs," the British-based international magazine known for revealing pictorials of models and actresses showcases Obama in her tasteful official White House portrait.

In the rare accolade for a political spouse, the magazine notes that her husband President Barack Obama "may be dealing with two wars, an economic meltdown, and a rapidly graying dome.

"But at least our Commander in Chief gets to come home to the hottest First Lady in the history of these United States." (source)

I mean, she may be smart and she may look nice after 18 stylists have had their hands all over her...but HOT? I realize she's 93rd and not in the top 10 or anything...but really, top 100 in the world?

What did she look like in the pre-stylist days ('cause who couldn't look good with that much professional help and money...) I'm thinking maybe maxim didn't check Google images before putting MO on their list...

I realize there are bad pictures of all of us...but all of us aren't on Maxim's 100 Hottest list and coming in above Padma. And I did feel a pang of guilt given that she didn't put herself on the list...but then I remembered that she's married to a socialist that's ruining my country.

If She Goes There Will Be Trouble, And If She Stays It Will Be Double

The Left loves to make excuses for their own, but Pelosi buried herself and the American people like the CIA more than the Speaker. Will Obama waste political capital trying to save her or will Stenny Hoyer be the new Speaker?

Will Nancy Pelosi keep her position as Speaker of the House?

    Flattering Hate Mail?!

    [Dear ALa]

You are beautiful. You know this. It gives you strength. You are Blonde. You are the Master Race. What pathetic struggles the rest of us who are not born blonde and beautiful must work through to get anywhere. You who are Superior can just pose, “Hold still; Smile; Good,” and you get the reward God intended for His chosen Few.

You float along in a bubble agreeing with your mirror that you are "good" and "they" are not. You recast every issue in terms of your short little memorized list of bullet points. "These are the good things," you chant like your cult has taught you. "These are the bad things. These are the good things. These are the bad things. Kill the bad things."

You remember that Anyone who agrees with the "Good List" is 100% good. Those who support the bad list must be destroyed. "I am doing the work of God," you remind yourself after you type vicious phrases that the cult has indoctrinated into your blank stare.

You look at your baby and think he verifies that you are Godly. Puritans have always taught that those on the right will be rewarded. You do not see the son of a mother a little older than you. That baby boy grew Army strong to be blown to shreds in the War for Cheney's Oil Investments. You call that dead baby a Hero and send his mom a ribbon.

Your baby will also ... It is too horrible to type. Your sneering hatred will bring another war just in time for your baby boy to ... Don't think. Don't think.

Because you are beautiful, you think you are more correct. Your gorgeous facial bone structure and silky blonde hair validate your belief in what you believe. But you are fooled.

The pretty blonde lady a little older than you who is mother of the American Hero Buried with Military Honors that she will never see again no longer cares what color her hair is or how pretty she was Before … before … … She would trade it all to have her son back.

Not to worry. Rush and the Warlords who dictate what he will say lovvve you.

They love all their guns. You are a killing tool They will use you like any other Semi-Automatic weapon with a silencer, until you sag and get cellullite in a few years and crow’s feet, so your picture needs too much photoshopping to sexually stimulate the recruits that surf to a hatesite from behind a locked door in a darkened bedroom, all alone with your blonde smile, enlarged and printed out to concentrate on, while they grin and receive positive strokes because the popular blonde girl they could never touch in their real life likes the same kicks they do, hates the same fags they hate.

Then they will replace you with another fresh young girl in her own delusional soapy bubble whose every thought they have replaced with their scripts. You will become a clucking hen and then a hacking hag. You will be the next Phyllis Schlafly with her pitiful son living in a back room. You will be brought out to speak to teenage Nazi recruits at Private high schools and Patriotic Rallies for invited teens only. You will replace your lost ability to sexually stimulate the teen Nazis by appealing to the other side of their unpopularity, their fear.

Oh yes you will. You will do exactly what your handlers say. "They are Right," your mirror will tell you. "Look at your Good List," your mirror will warn you. "See. Right there. The bullets. They never lie."

You look at the Good List and cover your eyes and smile.

"I am a Good Girl," you repeat over and over. "I am I am I am."

"I am on the Good List," you pray. "I am Honest. There. See? That’s my Excuse. I am not perfect. See, God? I am not vain and proud, God. I have a flaw."

You smile your beautiful-blonde smile like an angel. Your mirror makes you feel soooo good. Insert here.

"My flaw is that I am too honest. I can't help it," you say, checking the bullets they gave you to make sure of what to hate, ignoring the clock in the background ticking away the minutes till your son is military age. You don’t want that Ribbon.

    Ya know?

I wondered if I should tell him that my Dad is Sicilian and I don't have a drop of German blood in me (though, I did marry one)...and that he too could be just as blonde if I gave him my hairdresser's digits... In the end, I sent what I deemed as the most appropriate response to an email such as this...

    So, think I'm pretty :)

    Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

    Yeah well, *I* think I'm funny :)

    Disclosed Location.

"...Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president.

According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.

The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks..." (source)

I have a few conflicting thoughts on this:
    1) I'm pretty sure this bunker location was deemed "classified information" --most likely more so than a desk jockey at the if there was an investigation over Valerie Plame, then there should definitely be one over this and Biden should end up where Scooter Libby was...

    2) On second thought, Biden only screwed himself why be petty and call for a meaningless investigation like they always do. It's his hideout now. I say that he should have to use this disclosed location should our country come under attack again. Taxpayer monies should not be used to build another one because he would only blab again...

    3) At third glance, should something happen to BO AND the gaffe king, Nancy Pelosi would be President and as much as I long to see a woman in the White House...I couldn't stand THAT woman there.

    4) So are we doomed to build a new and undisclosed location and then require Obama's teleprompter to guide the VP too?

    Obama's Weekly Faux Pas

    Drudge is a No No?

"...The U.S. attorney’s office in Massachusetts directed employees earlier this month not to log onto the Drudge Report website with government-issued computers due to potential viruses on the site.

Tracy Schmaler, a Justice Department spokeswoman, said it was because “a malicious code was found contained in a Web ad on Drudge.”

Schmaler also said the request to stay off Drudge wasn’t politically motivated.." (source)

Women akin to dogs for Obama?

"...When Axelrod was asked if he had weighed in on the Obama family’s dog choice, "the Rasputin in this kingdom" (as Sagal jokingly referred to him) sassed back, “I was only called in for the final three, and one was Miss California.” (source)

Obama says the debt from HIS stimulus is "Unsustainable"

"President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries." (source)

Is being compare to a non-human a good thing?

"...President Barack Obama said in a report Sunday that he saw the new "Star Trek" film recently -- and not just because it was last week's top-grossing movie.

"Everybody was saying I was Spock," said the US leader, known to have a wonkish command of the minutiae of policy -- not unlike the dispassionate movie Vulcan to whom he has been compared.

Newsweek gushed however that Obama's version of the character would be "Spock with global sex appeal." (source)

    The Trouble With Closing GITMO...

I know the Left has been in serious denial about it...but...surprise, surprise, there are bad guys there! Despite all the cries of foul, no other country has or will step up and take any of these choir boys. Obama has already promised the radicals that got him to the Oval Office that Club GITMO was now what? He already flip-flopped on the "torture" pics, he can't lose face here too.

"...The Obama administration is weighing plans to detain some terror suspects on U.S. soil -- indefinitely and without trial -- as part of a plan to retool military commission trials that were conducted for prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The proposal being floated with members of Congress is another indication of President Barack Obama's struggles to establish his counter-terrorism policies, balancing security concerns against attempts to alter Bush-administration practices he has harshly criticized..." (source)

What's the difference if they're in Cuba "indefinitely and without trial" or here? With a change in continent satisfy the moonbats? I doubt it --they want them to have the same rights as we as American citizens have.

And what Governor will acquiesce to having terrorists in their prison system? What Representative and Senator will agree to volunteer their state before an election year? This seems as if it's going to become a major thorn in the flesh for the messiah...though, unlike the actual Messiah, this one is self-inflicted.

I have an idea! To save taxpayer money on 241 military commissions, we'll take each detainee...put them in a room with an ACLU lawyer with a machete and a chopping block...if the lawyer keeps his head we'll assume the detainee is innocent.

    $271K in Your Bank Account

You're broke. You're a single mom. You're about to be evicted. One day you get your ATM receipt and see the balance is $271, 366.01. You know it's not yours. What do you do?

Lynita Regis gave it all back. Now she's $3 overdrawn.

"...Turns out, the money belongs to King County. Regis once worked there at the jail, a job that apparently had signee privileges she didn't know she had. When a teller issued her a new debit card last week, it mistakenly gave her access to the adult detention center account.

Regis left the bank with a new card and back where she began.

"Broke but I feel relieved... but broke," she said.

Regis says someday she'll have to pay the piper but she didn't want to do it with stolen money.

"At the end of the day, are you gonna sell your soul for $271,366.01?" she said.

At the end of this day, Regis paid rent and is now $3 overdrawn.

We notified the King County Jail of the error and the staff was stunned. The public information officer said Regis deserves recognition for her honesty..." (source)

    Recognition? How about a reward?

Well, reward or no reward...she set a wonderful example for her child(ren).

If you discovered $200K in your bank account, would you give it back?
Yes, it's the right thing to do.
    Yes, they'd find out anyway.

"Torture" Photos Held: Concern for Troops or Planning a Trial?

"...President Barack Obama declared Wednesday he would try to block the court-ordered release of photos showing U.S. troops abusing prisoners, abruptly reversing his position out of concern the pictures would "further inflame anti-American opinion" and endanger U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Obama's turnabout set off immediate reactions from bloggers, both liberals who decried that he was buckling to political pressure and conservatives who agreed with the decision but said it proved the president was a flip-flopper." (source)

...Well, the "wishful thinking" over at the Democratic Underground is that Obama is not holding these pictures in deference to our troops' safety at all...but is keeping them from the public because they are trial evidence. They seem to have collective, vivid dreams of Cheney's conviction for war crimes.

Some are mad at the messiah:
"President Obama has yet to show good faith on this, and this is coming from a pretty staunch defender of this President. Until now."

Some want the pictures to endanger our soldiers and marines because if troops would just be nice none of this would be happening:
"I think there would be value in letting the American people finally "see," at last what they're government did in their names..."

Some seem to think all republicans should be in jail:

"We wouldn't have had to deal with this crap if we would have prosecuted Nixon, and then Reagan and Poppy. This is just more of the same."

And the truly faithful are standing by their man:

"He has a calculating, deliberate and analytical mind. I wait and I watch."

UPDATE: And you gotta love this from the Kos Kids:

"...This is an unbelievable moment. Dick Cheney's PR offensive over the last month actually worked. Barack Obama just crumbled and will follow Cheney's command to not release the new set of detainee abuse pictures.

By the way, if you hadn't figured it out by now, that's why you saw every Cheney in the world on television arguing that torture works and that releasing more information would gravely harm the troops. They weren't worried about what was already released; they were worried about what was going to get released. They were trying to pre-empt the most damaging thing of all - the pictures that show the torture...

If there's a real journalist in this country, they will get their hands on those pictures and release them to the world. We did what is in those pictures...." (Kos Kid Journal)

Is it wrong that I'm reveling in their heartache and disappointment? First Nancy Pelosi's complicity in waterboarding...and now their Savior covering up Cheney's sins! This is better than the day their Fitzmas fizzled! :)

    Welfare to Work Alcohol

"...Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering a bill that would bar welfare recipients from using taxpayer-backed benefit cards to buy alcohol.

The measure, which also bans use of child support payments for alcohol purchases, unanimously passed the state House last week. It now heads to the state Senate, where a spokesman for Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, R-Delaware, says he believes it has general support.

State Rep. Dave Reed, R-Indiana, said he submitted the measure after learning on a tour of a county assistance office a few years ago that such purchases were not illegal.

"I had no idea at the time that such a loophole existed," he said. "I don't think most people did." (source)

First of all, how sad that we need a bill to tell someone that the taxpayers shouldn't be buying their Mike's Hard Lemonade. Second, if we are going to make this a law in needs to be expanded. I have been behind people buying pre-made hoagies and cigarettes with their Access cards...cases of soda and ROLLING PAPERS. Are you kidding me?

But get this, I was watching a news segment addressing this and the "con" guy was against the bill because...ready? It would "reinforce stereotypes about the poor." OMG.

    A Familial Literary Challenge

My dad and I have been discussing Liberty & Tyranny and The 5000 Year Leap...and how far BOTH PARTIES have deviated from the intentions of the founding fathers.

We have been wondering how someone like Barack Obama (who taught Constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School) would be okay with moving the country SO FAR from what was originally intended... Many on the Left espouse the belief that the Constitution is a "living, breathing document", but when reading these books that highlight the intentions set forth, there is no way you could infer a "living" or a "breathing." ...And even many Republicans are way off the path set for us.

So I was going to ask one of the Left-leaning readers here (RBP or Honest Partisan maybe) to read 5000 Year Leap and justify their views in light of their opposition to what was intended. But then my brother (a socialist-leaning Lib) offered to read it if I would read "Freethinkers" by Susan Jacoby.

Of course I took him up on this offer (much to his dismay) and procured a promise of a post when he is done reading. See, I will even read 447 pages on the "history of American Secularism" for all of your edification! :)

    Our Tax Dollars At Work

We've all read about the incredibly wasteful things our tax dollars will be funding thanks to that brilliant (and urgent) stimulus package (that doesn't seem to be stimulating shite!) Mormon crickets and Murtha's airport to nowhere, but could THIS possibly be true? My kids' kids will be paying off a debt that paid to curb alcoholism in Chinese hookers?!

"...The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job.

Dr. Xiaoming Li, the researcher conducting the program, is director of the Prevention Research Center at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.

The grant, made last November, refers to prostitutes as "female sex workers"--or FSW--and their handlers as "gatekeepers." (source)

    Victims of Socialized Medicine

You can watch many more videos at this site which is intent on educating the American public about the realities of government-funded health care.

There are two things proponents of socialized medicine never seem to ask themselves. Why do people come from every other country to have their medical treatments HERE if they're able?

And, is there really a time when you get something great for free...or do you normally get what you pay for?

People aren't against nationalized meds because they are jazzed about footing their own insurance bills...they are jut smart enough to know that all elective procedures and preventative procedures will be off the table. That less and less college grads will choose to struggle though medical school and we will be left with sub-par candidates and that waiting times, both in waiting rooms and for procedures, will be unprecedented...

There should be a campaign to bring political science back into the classroom (because it's obviously NOT there now). It's bad enough that we only have two parties...but when there is only one that retains power for too can only mean rampant corruption and a lose-lose situation for the people. It's a shame so many in this country have no idea how our political system works and vote down union racial lines.

We live in a country where Marion Barry and John Street can be reelected. *sigh*

I'm With Cheney On This One

In light of Steele's lackluster first hundred days as head of the GOP, we are reminded how "well" he fared when he decided to take on Rush Limbaugh. It seems to me that some people still seriously underestimate the influence Rush has on true Conservatives...

But not Dick Cheney...if there's one thing he hasn't been accused of being, it's dumb. Yesterday morning when asked about the "new Limbaugh vs. Powell feud", Cheney unequivocally sided with Rush over his ex-colleague:

"From the Sunday, May 10 Face the Nation:

BOB SCHIEFFER: Rush Limbaugh said the other day the that the party would probably be better off if Colin Powell left and just became a Democrat. Colin Powell said Republicans would be better off if they didn't have Rush Limbaugh speaking for them. Where do you come down?

DICK CHENEY: Well, if I had to choose, in terms of being a Republican, I'd go with Rush Limbaugh I think. My take on it was Colin had already left the party. I didn't know he was still a Republican.

SCHIEFFER: So you think that he's not a Republican?

CHENEY: I just noted he endorsed the Democratic candidate for President this time, Barack Obama. I assume that that's some indication of his loyalty and his interests.

SCHIEFFER: And you said you take Rush Limbaugh over Colin Powell?

    CHENEY: I would, politically."

    Colin Powell
Someone in the Middle of those two

Wishing Kidney Failure on Wanda Sykes and HuffPo

    Part II

(*These video has a major BARF ALERT attached to it)

At The White House Correspondents dinner Saturday night, Curb Your Enthusiasm comedian Wanda Sykes said she hoped Rush Limbaugh's kidney's would fail (and in case you were wondering, yes, Obama laughed)... I'm wondering how it would be received if I wished death upon those I don;t agree with. Like should Al Franken get colon cancer? Should I hope that Sean Penn get a tumor on his prostate? Would people think it "was funny" and "just jokes" if I riffed about those things?

...Listen, I'm not saying she can't say it. The crass biatch can say whatever she likes...I'm just (Once again) making notice of the glaring hypocrisy and disconnect here.

But that wasn't my main point... my main point was a piece over at HuffPo where the "writer" Gordon Marino apparently thinks Sykes' "comedy" is akin to the holy grail of political analysis. First, let me get this out of the way should Gordon happen upon this:

a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based.
    similarity or comparability.

    Okay, here's what Gordon wrote:

"...It is a truism to claim that profundities often lurk in good humor. Wanda Sykes performance last night at the White House Correspondents dinner was a prime example of the truth wrapped in a joke.

Midway through her routine. Ms Sykes started railing against the very idea that anyone could defend the use of torture. "Torture" she bellowed a few times shaking her head and laughing ironically. After a pause, she turned her shotgun wit on the quail hunter- Dick Cheney.

Cheney, rehearsed Sykes, wants the reports open that show that we were able to drown useful information out of terrorists by waterboarding them! That, quipped Sykes with a beaming smile and her arms outstretched, would be like getting caught robbing a bank and going before the judge saying "Yeah I robbed the bank but look at all the bills I paid!" Bulls eye Wanda!..." (source)

Gordon is apparently a PhD and a Sociology professor, but he seems to have forgotten that an analogy (especially one he is going to praise and pen an entire piece about) is supposed to have two things that are comparable --and Sykes doesn't.

Waterboarding for real time info to stop terror attacks is not like robbing a bank and paying your bills because A) that doesn't help anyone but yourself B) that doesn't save lives. I'd say those were two pretty important points.

So, Gordon the Phd wrote an entire article praising an analogy that wasn't an analogy at all. In fact, it wasn't even good sarcasm...or a funny joke. Why was Wanda there again?
