Peanut Sniffing Dogs

I fully expect to see a few of these patrolling the grounds of my kids' school...

"...It's one of the first in the world; A dog that can sniff out peanuts for people with severe allergies. A little girl in Monument is one of the first to get this type of allergy alert dog.

Rock-O is so sensitive to the smell, he can detect it even if peanut butter is sealed in a ziplock bag, and put in a cupboard. He sits when he smells it, and whines if you don't pay attention.

Service dogs cost anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000. Rock-O was free, paid for by donations. That's why Sherry heads Angel Service Dogs. That organization is hoping to raise enough money to provide these allergy alert dogs to kids all over the country..." (source)
