Nate was quick to send me an FYI yesterday entitled: "No link between Saddam and Al-Qaeda: Pentagon study" and these were the 'related articles' listed on that page:
Melbourne Herald Sun - 10 hours ago
Guardian - 23 hours ago
USA Today - Mar 12, 2008
Funny though, if you read the actual report (which is in PDF form, so I can't copy & paste) you see that the first line in the "Executive Summary" says:
"The Iraqi perspective Project (IPP) review of captured Iraqi documents uncovered strong evidence that links the regime of Saddam Hussein to regional and global terrorism. Despite the incompatible long-term goal, many terrorist movements and Saddam found a common enemy in the United States."
The study does state that no "smoking gun" was found that directly links Saddam to al Qaeda, but there are qualifiers under that detailing relationships with radical Islamic groups.
This IPP study may not be what the Left needs to absolve their "Bush Lied, people Died" mantra...yet if they actually read the report they will see that it's much more than the headlines the MSM is using.
