I have written often about how liberals show the military the same sort of love and respect that a Muslim Fundamentalist would show to a daughter who kisses on the first date. In short, liberals HATE the military. This is a sad state of affairs that a party seeking the highest office in the land can only succeed by enabling the failure of our guys and gals in uniform, but on the other hand I love being right.

In the past few months not only have we had Harry Reid declaring that our military has lost the war but Democrat House Majority Whip James Clyburn talked about the effects that military success would have on the liberals hopes for 2008 and admitted that it “would be a problem for us”. On top of this we had a soldier thrown out of the daily Kos convention who, despite what the little leftists claimed at the time about uniformed soldiers at political events, had every right to be there in uniform because he was not on active duty. The liberals who shouted him down, threw him out and threatened him apparently had missed that part in the military regulations. This is all very telling about how libs feel about the military. Nothing put the exclamation mark on the liberal disgust with our soldiers more then Chuck Schumer’s recent comments. The Democrat leader recently made the following statement:

“Let me be clear: the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge. The inability of American soldiers to protect these tribes from Al-Qaeda said to these tribes, ‘We have to fight Al-Qaeda ourselves.’ It wasn't that the surge brought peace here. It was that the warlords took peace here, created a temporary peace here."

Apparently a politician with a D after their name can’t even give credit where credit is due. Chuck's behavior has validated every accusation that liberals die a little inside when our military succeeds. Oddly enough this statement is getting very little attention in the mainstream media.

Anybody who still delude themselves into thinking liberals appreciate the military probably also thinks the song “Puff the Magic Dragon” is about the days of Camelot. Those who will claim they are liberals and Schumer doesn’t speak for them have forgotten that he is one of the Democrat power brokers who shapes the ideology of the Dems as well as the parties political direction. So if you cast your ballot for a Democrat, this man absolutely speaks for you and represents the values that you have voted for.

Liberals will, of course, whine that their patriotism is being questioned, and that they love our military as much as the next guy (this is only true if the next guy is Osama Bin Laden). Before talking about how unfairly they are being treated perhaps they should remember the old proverb "You are judged by the company you keep". In short, if you hang with traitors, you will be perceived as a traitor.
