The Man and I do our best talking and figuring in the backyard (probably because we can chain smoke through the stress there). Over the past few weeks, as we have been weighing our options, we have most likely been less indulgent with the offspring. This became increasingly clear last night when the eight year old stood at the back door holding this homemade sign:

The Man had an incredible job offer (Government wages and government benefits -woohoo! Who knew government prevailing wage was so much higher than Union) --so the business is going to be closed...or slowed to a trickle. It's been a huge decision. He started this morning. I have mixed feelings because I know he loved having his own business, his own clients and his own employees. The problem is, when we went into the venture we were both naive enough to think that people would actually pay you for the work that you did. I am really looking forward to having a sense of security --something we haven't had in longer than I care to think about.
I look forward to "just sitting" with my guys again.
