"...DISILLUSIONED supporters of President George W Bush are defecting to Barack Obama, the Democratic senator for Illinois, as the White House candidate with the best chance of uniting a divided nation...
For his optimism about the future, Obama has been dubbed the “black Ronald Reagan." (source)
Who has "dubbed" him that? I haven't heard that and I consider myself pretty up-to-date on political goings on. Call me skeptical, but I find this a bit hard to believe. Is there even ONE Republican/Conservative here that would vote Obama? Even if Repubs were totally disenchanted with the party and the current crop of candidates --would they vote for Obama? If they were actually Republicans (and not saying they were to get in an article) would they abandon ALL of their ideals to get back at their party in the middle of a war against Islamofascism? Someone that voted to preserve partial birth abortion, supports "alternative sentencing" instead of the death penalty, wants stricter gun laws and gun manufacturer's sued for gun violence, voted against wiretapping terrorists, doesn't believe tax cuts create jobs, voted against Justices' Alito and Roberts, and voted against the use of force in Iraq? There is a Republicans for Obama site (started by Obama's people I'm sure) -Here is their mission statement:
"RepublicansforObama.org is an organization founded by proud party members who all share one important trait— we are Americans first and Republicans second. (Even if it is a close second.) Collectively, we have campaigned, worked for, and voted Republican all our lives, but recognize that our Country needs a new kind of leader at this time. While there will always be important issues on which thoughtful Americans will disagree, there are others that cannot be up for debate— our economic prosperity and our standing in the world." Doesn't that last sentence sum up why one shouldn't vote Obama?
maybe this was a grand plan by the Clintonistas. As soon as a report that some evil Repubs liked Obama...it seems Hillary rebounded in the polls and is in the lead (15 pts) once again.
