Scary huh... Hillary and Robert KKK Byrd are going to introduce a new Surrender Bill that would end the President's authority for the war in Iraq.
"...The bill will propose Oct. 11, 2007, as the expiration date for the congressional resolution that authorized President George W. Bush to use force in Iraq. That resolution was approved Oct. 11, 2002.
"The American people have called for change, the facts on the ground demand change, the Congress has passed legislation to require change," said Clinton, a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. "If the president will not bring himself to accept reality, it is time for Congress to bring reality to him." (source)
What does that mean? After that day they could call it an illegal war if the troops weren't withdrawn? What is the reality that the President won't accept? That the terrorists won? We need to "accept" defeat?
What do you think about Tommy Thompson's suggestion that we let the new Iraqi government vote on whether the US should remain or not...?
Last night during the debate Chris Matthews said that 55% of the American people "don't believe that victory is possible". Could that be true? Have we made jingoism so taboo that we now feel we deserve to lose?
