Border Agents Still In Jail & Being Attacked

"...Border Patrol agent Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos has been assaulted in prison by as many as 5 other inmates -- news confirmed by three family members.

The assault occurred at 10:00pm Saturday night (2/3), apparently following the airing of America's Most Wanted. According to Ramos' uncle:

"Nacho was assaulted Saturday night around 2200 by about five illegal immigrants. He has multiple and severe injuries. They put him in Isolation for now, he has not been allowed to see a doctor since Saturday. They were yelling at him in Spanish, Maten a la migra. which means kill the Border Patrol Agent."

Another family member said Nacho was attacked after he fell asleep Saturday night. Assaulters went after him with repeated blows and kicks. Ramos suffered wounds to his back, shoulder, arms and head. There is concern that Agent Ramos was not given medical treatment after the incident and may not have received medical attention for up to 48 hours. An investigation is expected to be launched Tuesday..." (source)

"...After seeing AMW's story, about five fellow prisoners waited until Ramos fell asleep and beat him badly, yelling "maten a la migra", which means "kill the border patrol agent" in Spanish. According to his family, he suffered wounds to his back, shoulder, arms and head..." (source)

Here's the story America's Most Wanted ran about the agents. A story that the Justice Department asked them not to run. A story in which the US Attorney, Johnny Sutton, contradicts himself.

"...Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) issued a statement on Tuesday that criticized the White House for not protecting Ramos in prison, and asking President Bush to pardon the two border patrol agents.

"Not only did the administration choose the side of a foreign dope runner over the agents who stopped him from smuggling a load of drugs into the county -- now they've failed to protect that agent while his case is on appeal," Rep. Tancredo said. (source)

Why? Why ask AMW three times not to air this story? Why allow these men to be in Gen Pop? Why are guards opening cell doors so they can be assaulted by illegals? Why is the scum bag drug dealer now allowed to sue the US for $5 million dollars? I'm so confused...

Even if the agents didn't report the shooting to avoid paperwork/hassle because the ILLEGAL, DRUG DEALER got away...that still doesn't warrant the Justice Dept. siding with a felon, falsified evidence and a 12 year sentence...

At least Duncan Hunter is all over it...
