Porn Domain?

I know a while back a proposal to give porn its own domain was shot down...back then I thought it was XXX instead of WWW, but the XXX is instead of the (dot)com. I think this is a great idea as right now if your kid types in whitehouse.com instead of (dot)gov he'll get a porn site. There is little chance someone will type XXX by mistake.

But, both anti-porn people and porn people are against the proposal:

"...Anti-porn advocates, however, countered that sites would be free to keep their current ".com" address, in effect making porn more easily accessible by creating yet another channel to house it.

Many porn sites also objected, fearing that an ".xxx' domain would pave the way for governments or even private industry to filter speech that is protected in the United States by the First Amendment...." (source)

To the anti-porn people: you are shooting yourself in the foot again, there will always be porn so let's isolate it so young kids can't stumble on it.
To the porn people: You should willingly make your sites child-proof and if having your own domain does it -then voluntarily lose the ".com" addy.

Don't we have more important things to deal with than where you can go to get your porn fix?
