"This is an utter disaster," Gore told Today show host Matt Lauer. "This was the worst strategic mistake in the entire history of the United States. And now we, as a nation, have to find a way, in George Mitchell's words, to manage a disaster." (source)The worst? In the entire history? Not waiting until 6 million Jews were dead to lend a helping hand in WWII?, Or killing each other over slavery?, Or cowtailing to Iran and bailing out of Beirut back in the 70's and 80's?
Wow. It's a shame this statement most likely got lost in the Today Show interview that one site rightly called a Matt Lauer hosted infomercial for Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth".
Me personally, I would say our worst mistake was allowing terrorists to believe they can take us on...Our worst mistake is waging this war in a politically correct fashion that puts out troops in more danger than the IED planting troopers of Allah... But hey, what do I know.
