Democrats Encourage Fraud ...By Screaming Fraud

I would love for someone to explain to me how showing proof that you are an American citizen to vote could possibly be a bad thing (other than you are trying to have non-citizens vote)...

"In a vote of 228 to 196, the House Wednesday approved a bill that requires Americans to show proof of citizenship in order to vote, but Democrats said the measure amounts to a Republican voter suppression bill.

The Federal Election Integrity Act of 2006 (H.R. 4844), also known as the Voter ID Act, takes effect in 2010 and requires voters to present a photo ID that could not have been obtained without proof of U.S. citizenship..." (source)

How can you "suppress" votes that are illegal? I am so confused.

As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to the Democrats we should also have a bill that requires proof you don't have a death certificate or an address in a federal penitentiary.

"Speaking on the House floor Wednesday prior to the vote, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said by voting for the measure, Congress is undermining the "right to vote" and "our democracy." The bill would also disenfranchise voters, she said.

"Though the right to vote is the foundation of our democracy, the bill we debate today would in effect disenfranchise millions of American voters: the elderly, African Americans, Asian Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, people with disabilities; and the list goes on," Pelosi said. (source)

OMG, is she really saying that old people, Black people and Spanish people are too stupid to obtain an ID? And if that's her claim (racist, racist, racist!) how are they living without IDs to begin with? How do they cash checks, buy smokes, have a drink at TGI Fridays?

If I were on Pelosi's list of incompetents I'd be pretty pissed. Listen rich white woman, don't tell two entire races and a huge over-65 crowd that they aren't capable of filling out a form and taking it somewhere for a picture...in a three year time frame no less.
