Even Our Babies are Fat...

The CDC has released new information that broadens the obesity dilemma in the U.S.:

"...Young children, especially infants, are now more likely to be overweight than two decades ago, according to a U.S. study.

"The obesity epidemic has spared no age group, even our youngest children," said Dr. Matthew Gillman, the senior author of the study and a professor at Harvard Medical School.

Over 22 years in Massachusetts, the number of overweight infants increased by 74 per cent, the researchers reported Wednesday...." (source)

Maybe we should talk to Mr. Breast-feeding-is-bad Prager about this epidemic... though I'm sure he'd like to ignore all the studies that show breastfed babies (for at least a year) are WAY less likely to ever be obese...

Justrose and I were just discussing the weight problems of the U.S the other day. Did you know that having ONE glass of soda (or beer) a day will add 15 lbs. to your weight a year?! I am not a big fan of making anything 'the forbidden fruit', but soda is one thing we only have in my house at parties/BBQs...
