C.A.I.R. (Council of American Islamic Relations) has been a nominal pain in the ass since 9/11, and some aren’t completely sure that organization is terror-free, –but their reaction to the (hopefully) foiled UK terror plot has clearly placed them on the “Delusional” list…
I understand wanting a distinction between regular “peaceful” (aka backslidden) Muslims and the insane ideology-driven Islamofascists –but to now say we can’t even be disparaging of those that would kill up because we’re “apes, pigs and infidels”? We need to show respect to people plotting the deaths of thousands of Americans?
"...U.S. Muslim groups criticized President Bush on Thursday for calling a foiled plot to blow up airplanes part of a "war with Islamic fascists," saying the term could inflame anti-Muslim tensions.
U.S. officials have said the plot, thwarted by Britain, to blow up several aircraft over the Atlantic bore many of the hallmarks of al Qaeda.
"We believe this is an ill-advised term and we believe that it is counterproductive to associate Islam or Muslims with fascism," said Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations advocacy group.
"We ought to take advantage of these incidents to make sure that we do not start a religious war against Islam and Muslims," he told a news conference in Washington.
"We urge him (Bush) and we urge other public officials to restrain themselves." (source)
Is this country/world so ridiculous that one would be chastised for not being polite to your would-be killer? And why do we hear about all the “wonderful” Muslims and no one wants to acknowledge the murdering ones? Have they missed the little fact that they are murdering in the name of Islam…?
I have news for you C.A.I.R., Muslims ARE associated with fascism...and it IS a religious war. And it's mainly YOUR silence, disclaimers and qualifiers that has ensured it is such... Well, that and the murdering Islamofascists.
Personally, I was pretty proud of Bush for actually saying "Islamic fascism --and I haven't been able to say that in a while...
