Tribute to Pat Tillman

Three of Ohio State University's players explained why they are all sporting long hair... Bobby Carpenter, Anthony Schlegel, and A.J. Hawk are all paying tribute to Pat Tillman.

"It wasn't only what Pat Tilman did on the field that inspired these Buckeyes. Walking off the field is what left a lasting impression. In the wake of September 11th, Pat Tilman gave up a 3.6-million-dollar contract with the NFL's Arizona Cardinals to join the Army. On April 22, 2004 Tilman died in Afghanistan fighting for what he believed in, a world without terrorists.

Arizona State retired his jersey, a tribute to honor his heroism, both on and off the field. The three Buckeyes pay tribute too, sporting the long hair that Tilman made famous.

And in the Fiesta Bowl A.J. Hawk will have another reminder of the man who played with all his heart on that same field, a scarlet bracelet that reads, "Never forget, #40." (source)

I'm not into professional football -and certainly not college ball, but this is very cool.
