Tookie Update -Clock Still Ticking...

Oh, where to begin... I guess we should start with the fact that the California Supreme Court denied to grant a stay of execution for Mr. Williams. This means that it's up to Arnie, but get this...there are threats of rioting if Schwarzenegger doesn't stay the execution that is scheduled for tomorrow...?????????

Here's how CNN introduced this story:
"Supporters of Tookie Williams only have one more day before this Nobel Prize Nominated author is set to be executed in less than 24 hours..." ARRRGGGHHH!
What's wrong with that intro...? Not four time murderer and founder of the Crips. Not convicted felon that murdered four people in cold blood when the robbery that he was committing could have been successfully executed without anyone dying--let alone a child.

Chris Williams on Fox Sunday posed a very good question to Bianca Jagger (Tookie apologist) on the issue of repentance and retribution. This is a man that has never even apologized for his actions or attempted to make restitution to the families he destroyed...or at the least offered the police information about the Crips...

I am wondering if the news agencies are saying his name wrong. How could one survive 25 years on death row with a name like Tookie -that's a teddy bear name. I am wondering if it's Tokie and he just spelled it wrong. He was the founder of the Crips after I am sure that he partook of the herb before his incarceration...

Truthfully, I agree that it seems cruel to be put to death 25 years after your crime when you may have reformed (not saying he has given the lack of apologies, etc), but this is California's fault for taking so long...

Clemency UPDATE:
"California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger denied clemency on Monday to Stanley Tookie Williams, citing the former Crips gang leader's lack of remorse for four brutal murders.

The rejection, following the denial of last-minute appeals by two top courts, clears the way for Williams to be executed by lethal injection at 12:01 a.m. (0801 GMT) on Tuesday for murdering four people in two 1979 petty robberies around Los Angeles.

"Stanley Williams insists he is innocent, and that he will not and should not apologize or otherwise atone for the murders of the four victims in this case," Schwarzenegger wrote. "Without an apology and atonement for these senseless and brutal killings there can be no redemption." (source)

Update 2:
Pronounced dead at 12:35 am at San Quentin prison. Who will be the next "Cause Celeb"....?
