Lattice-Top Apple Pie

What You Need:
Your favorite Pie crust recipe -or- (3) Pillsbury Ready crusts
(10) apples (Gala, McIntosh, Granny Smith -the more variety the better the pie)
Lemon juice (or orange juice)
(1) cup sugar (or a little less)
(2) Tsp. Cinnamon
(1/4) Tsp. Nutmeg
(1) lg. egg yolk

What You Do:
-Peel and slice apples
-Sprinkle apples in lemon (or orange) juice and mix with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg
-Cook apples in frying pan until sugar turns syrupy (not more than 6 minutes)
-Line pie dish with one crust and fill with apples
-Slice second crust into 3/4" strips and criss-cross on a piece of wax paper
-Flip the crust onto the pie
-Rip ends and seal
-Use excess crust to cut out leaves & apples
-Mix egg yolk with (2) tablespoons of water and paint entire crust
-Bake at 450° for 15 minutes -then reduce heat to 350° and bake for an additional 45 minutes.

*Warning - It's very hard to actually cut this beauty up and let people eat it! ;)
