More Farrakhan...

The man may be a kook in most people's eyes, but he has done something quite ingenious... He has managed to play the ever-successful "race-card" and divert the attention of Black America from the abject poverty uncovered in Democratic-controlled New Orleans to a "kill all the poor black people" conspiracy theory.

When the truth began emerging that death tolls were highly exaggerated and the shock of the terrible events began to wear off --people may have started to ask questions. Why is New Orleans so poor? Why are SO many people there living off the government? How could a city have such staggering poverty levels? The Democratic governor and the Democratic mayor may have had to start answering those very poignant questions. The dependant voter base could have been swayed to make a much-needed change. Farrakhan saw that possibility and headed it off at the pass.

He now claims that people don't have to take the word of the "mother ship" to realize that this was a plot to rid America of thousands of poor Blacks with one brilliant plan. The government would go in right after Katrina hit and set off a series of explosives that would breech the levies-- and the American public would believe that it was the work of the storm. Farrakhan claims he has found the proof to substantiate these claims. He has proof of explosives. Brilliant!

"Farrakhan demanded an investigation into the Bush administration's levee plot. If true, he insisted: "somebody is guilty, then not only of mass destruction of property, but of mass murder."

Farrakhan predicted that when New Orleans is rebuilt, it will be "a white city." (source)

Now, of course, 90% of Americans don't think race had anything to do with this...but over 70% of Blacks believe that it did. That's all Farrakhan needed. Dependant voter base remains intact.
