Reflections of our society...

It's sad when real news sounds like a punch-line...

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that when the parents of 582 parents of chronically truant students were ordered by local prosecutors to a meeting to advise them of their responsibility to get their kids to school, 241 of the parents failed to show up.

And it's sad when you are relieved to hear bad news because you thought it would be worse...

The first time I heard about Monsignor Eugene Clark resigning from his position, at the beautiful NYC St. Patrick's Cathedral, due to a a "sex scandal", my heart sunk...another child ruined for life. But alas, the Catholic Msgr. who claimed that "gays are the enemy of Christian marriage", who often railed against "a sex-saturated American culture", who defended the idea of "mandatory priestly celibacy" and who has a $2 million vacation home in Amagansett, L.I (?!) has not engaged in pedophilia...but only in sleeping with an 'of age' married woman. Sad that this news elicits a giant sigh of relief. He is indeed a hypocrite, but not a pedophile... (source)
