I'm Back & Catching up on things I've Missed

  • OK, first off, I promised my friend "R" from OBX (who is a PA transplant and not an NC native) that I would ask my Southern visitors a question... We were talking about Charlie Daniels' "Devil Went Down to Georgia" because *I* think the devil won (he disagrees), and then the conversation turned to -what the hell does "Chickens in the breadpan, picking out dough" mean... We figure that it must be a Southern thing. Can anyone help out on this one?

  • Did you hear that the London Zoo has set up a human exhibit? It's supposed to be serious too...
"The "Human Zoo" is intended to show the basic nature of human beings as they frolick throughout the August bank holiday weekend.
"We have set up this exhibit to highlight the spread of man as a plague species and to communicate the importance of man's place in the planet's ecosystem," London Zoo said. The scantily-clad volunteers will be treated as animals and kept amused at the central London zoo with games and music." (source)
They will be wearing fig leaves... Leave it to the Brits...

  • Chris Muir (Day by Day) rocks and it seems that he pitched in to the Project Valour IT effort this week! 10K has been raised so far and twenty laptops purchased!!! GREAT news, but still far from the goal -please keep spreading the news and the DONATION LINK and the BLOG LINK...!!!!

  • Looks like Nimbus finally has his new site up and running --and that he is going to take part of a new weekly music ring: Musical Chairs that a lot of cool people are contributing to.

  • I missed submitting something for the Carnival this week, but it's up at 'Not Exactly Rocket Science' and I'm definitely trying the Maple cake...

  • You HAVE to go check out The Gun Nutt's pictorial post about Friday night down at Walter Reed and the FReepers & Bloggers counter-protest across the street from the Code Pinkos... Desult, I gotta meet you down there one of these Friday nights!!! Much love to the FReeps and the Rolling Thunder boys!!!
