Carnival of Recipes #53

Ghetto Rice Pudding

...this was what you ate when you came from a family of five kids that always housed at least one or two foster kids, a plethora of pets and lived on a Philly fireman's salary...the tradition passed on and my guys love it and call it "Ricey Goodness"...

What You Need:

Leftover rice from your Chinese takeout order (obviously you can make rice too, but the sticky rice is better)
Raisins (optional)
Milk
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Sugar
Microwave

What You Do:
Run boiled water over raisins and immediately drain
Put desired lump of rice into a bowl and separate
Pour enough milk over rice to wet it (about 1/3 cup) and mix well
Cook in microwave for 45 seconds stir and cook another 45 seconds
Remove and stir
Add cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar to taste
Add raisins and more milk
Mix well

Wah-La! No more left over Chinese rice!
