Judge John Roberts

Some information...

VERY IMPORTANT: Keep saying "He's too moderate, we don't like him." Say it over and over --it worked for Alberto Gonzalez (they hated him for the GITMO stuff, but wanted him once they found out that Conservatives didn't)...libs seem to fall for reverse psychology...LOL

-(General) Worked as a political appointee in both the Reagan and Bush I administrations.
-(Reproductive) Mr. Roberts co-wrote a Supreme Court brief in Rust v. Sullivan,1 for the first Bush administration, which argued that the government could prohibit doctors in federally-funded family planning programs from discussing abortions with their patients.

I did a bit of reading, but don't know that much about this guy. I do know that within three seconds of his nomination the she-men at NARAL were already attacking him --so that's good. I am also happy to report that the posters over at DU (The Democratic Underground) are really upset about this choice --so that makes me feel better too. (The thread is pretty funny).

This is my favorite:
"Fortunately they [the Senate] are in recess for the next five weeks, so nothing is going to happen. We've got five weeks to pick this guy apart and find the ghosts in his closets. Bush is proving how desperate he is. Otherwise he would have waited until Congress is back in session so that there wouldn't be time to dig up any dirt on this one." ...and or maybe this one...

"Even If you have to SHUT THE GOVERNMENT DOWN! COMPLETELY DOWN! Fillibuster *EVERYTHING* if they try to go nuclear on you! This is the fundamental battle we've all elected you to fight. This is where we expect you to fight to your fullest abilities to win! Don't let any business go through the Senate or the House unless they pull back this nomination. Thanks!" ...no, this one...

"Hey, we can all still go to California for an abortion once it is overturned at the federal level."
You gotta read this thread!

...Wow, good thing we didn't go with our first pick...who actually was a woman...AND a Constitutional lawyer...ANN COULTER! *evil laughter*
Controversial pick? Can we just say -former ACLUer Ruth Bader Ginsberg... yeah, that's what I thought.
