Changed My Mind...

I decided to remove this post as I am feeling a bit raw lately...Drained, Tired, Disillusioned...
Someone called to tell me that this was not a good picture of me --said I look like Melanie Griffith in it. I think Mason was peeing on me as the photographer snapped the picture -which could explain a lot. It's virtually impossible to have me in a picture anymore. I took a bunch of photography classes and ever since then I am always behind the camera...I miss the darkroom -it is one of my dreams to build one in the house. For those of you who have never been -it is a wonderful stress reliever...
In the meantime maybe I should buy some Calgon?!

Looking for a little Sunday night fun...go to http://www.fundrace.org and type in your address...you can see if any of your neighbors donated any money to Bush, Kerry, the RNC or the DNC....you can also type in specific names to see if and what people gave.

Good for your, telling as you feel it. You are right, this subject is so very personal and it will cut to the core with woman faster than anything.

I see both sides. Really I do. And I think circumstances dictate the situation.

It's a tough issue, and I give you real credit for takin' it on head-first and putting your personal feelings out there like you did.

(you'll notice I chose not to state mine, still feeling a bit battered from the weekend!)

Dude, it was a hardcore post, but I loved hearing it over the phone. I don't have the guts to take it on myself. It is definitely a cage match. Sometimes with this stuff though, better to write it out to know how you feel about it, than to necessarily post it to the world. Then you can take anyone on in debate.

Hope your party was fun.

I'm drained...It's weird to say 'goodbye for a year' to two siblings. I am feeling sad -though I should look on the bright side --two less votes for Kerry in the swing state of PA....haha....

I'm glad I got to read it earlier. I thought it was a great post.

Scott and I don't have kids yet, but once we do, there is no way I can keep my current job. I've worked 47 hours in the last three days (and I'm still at the office!). So once we get lucky, so to speak, I will give up my vida loca here, and I am hoping to be a stay at home Mommy.

Speaking of work...

I have The Cure on my monitor. Did you guys listen to them? I'm so nostalgic for high school right now. They still look exactly the same. It's eerie. They sound fantastic. I haven't listened to them in years. I can't believe they are this good live. And this CROWD. Everyone is in black, every female and most of the males have on super thick black eye make-up...I have seen wacky mo-hawks in rainbow colors...all kinds of crazy piercings and tats...

I feel so....old.

I loved that picture. I thought it was beautiful. I copied it in to an email and sent it to BigandMean, just in case you change it before he gets back in town. That man is even more baby crazy than I am. He'll love it.

I'm sorry about your brothers going away for so long. I know how much I would miss my baby bro if he moved away.

Have you guys read the book I wrote on my site about PFC Kenneth? If you need a good cry....

You do look a little like Melanie Griffith in the picture. Why is that bad? I thought it was great.

What's better is carrying a baby or toddler on your shoulders and have him start peeing. And I don't care what pediatricians and child psychologists say about cognitive development and all of that BS, the little buggers do it on purpose.

What the hell? That is an awesome picture--a beautiful picture! I am sure that upon my wife viewing it, she is going to get all kinds of photography/darkroom inspiration and ideas. She might even cry at the beauty of it--(the beauty of mothers and children makes her cry.) My mom used to have a little darkroom where she used to produce all kinds of pictures of my twin brother and I. In our cowboy suits. In my Captain America t-shirt. My brother in his homemade Superman cape...

Who took the picture, by the way?

This (and all my studio pics) were done by Justrose's stepsister at Catalano Studio. She is a wonderful photographer!
Here is her link (if you go to 'Portraits' then to 'Children' my guys are on the webpage and are the sixth picture in the slideshow.

Did you notice on that funrace.org site that John Kerry lists himself as "Honorable John Kerry"?

I giggled.

This just sent to me by, yes, my grandmother.....

My neighbor found out her dog could hardly hear so she took it to the
veterinarian. He found that the problem was hair in its ears so he
cleaned both ears and the dog could hear fine.

The vet then proceeded to tell the lady that if she wanted to keep this
from re-occurring she should go to the store and get some "Nair" hair
remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month. The lady
goes to the drug store and gets some "Nair" hair remover.
-
-
At the register the druggist tells her: "If you're going to use this
under your arms don't use deodorant for a few days." The lady says
"I'm not using it under my arms."
-
-
The druggist says: "If you're using it on your legs don't shave for a
couple of days." The lady says "I'm not using it on my legs either; if
you must know, I'm using it on my schnauzer."
The druggist says: "Stay off your bicycle for a week."

And if I might toot my own horn (my trumpeter died) I wrote Catalano Studio's website -- I didn't design it, though. The flowery prose is mine alone.

Jen- I use fundrace to look up people in the area that have donated to Bush and Kerry and give/or don't give them my business accordingly...

Great picture! Both of your boys look like they'll be breaking a few hearts at some point in their lives. Enjoy them all you can while they're that age. You turn around one day and they're gone. Then this this wonderful, caring, mature adult materializes before your eyes and you marvel that you could have anything to do with raising such a fine person. Sometimes though, you will wish you had more time with the giggly little boy or girl who thinks you hung the moon. If you play your cards right, you will.

Im so mad that I had not the chance to read the post before it was taken down!
Anyway, this photograph is beautiful. What a classy picture! You do resemble M Griffith a little, but hopefully those comparisons wont bother you, shes a looker - you are gorgeous!
This picture is such a very beautiful picture of you and your boys. It has been very interesting to see what everyone looks like.

Love this picture!

Dad, I still think you hung the moon....and I still giggle at everything you say. I may not wear my hair in pigtails anymore, but nothing else has changed. :)

Jen & BigandMean -You guys have such a great relationship! I love reading the back and forth -though it does make me feel a bit whistful about what I missed in that regard...

~Jen~ said...

Ala71 - you do have that relationship - it's with your beautiful little boys. :) They're mighty lucky to have you as their Mamma. I can picture us all, years from now, telling stories to them about the "good ole bloggin' days" with the boys all grown up... Hopefully I won't be too decrepid to type hello to them.

*grin*

Ala, I guess I was on vacation when you posted whatever it was you posted. I don't suppose there is any chance of getting a replay? If you saved it, and don't mind, you can email to theglob@comcast.net

Thanks.
