...the conservative that liberals hate to love...
Thank God the 80's are over!
ALA, that smile, that glow, that beautiful long hair. But enough about Lefty, you were much prettier.
Damn what a handsome man!!!! Bon Jovi totally stole my whole look......ripoff artist! Ladies...my rock star days are over and I'm now a happily married man. And while I ask you to please respect my family's privacy, I do want you to know that sometime soon I will be singing the hits at a Karaoke bar near you.Just like a conservative....I tell you yesterday that I was thinking of posting an old photo....and you co-opt my idea and go public with it.Still......it made me laugh.
LOL Big and Mean!
It is 0445 and I am blinded by the blonde. Ouch. Gotta make the coffee. Good picture though. If you think we looked bad in the 80s, just think what todays teenagers are going to say in 20 years. OMG, what was I thinking?
EEEEvery rose has it's thorn...
And the big hair does remind me of growing up in Jesey, so I cannot talk.
redleg-I think they might still have the big hair in Jersey -no?
Yeah, I don't miss the hair and clothing styles of the 80s...but, perhaps I'm just being sentimental, but it seemed that you were just a bit freer to speak your mind those days and the kids seemed a bit tougher than the legions of clones nowadays who hang onto their cell-phones and gadgets like pacifiers, and balk in horror at the notion of prying themselves away from the Xbox for an hour or two of physical play outside.
Lefty-you know I am too much of a control freak to allow you to pick which pictures will be revealed (though I realize that I just painted a bullseye on my forehead).JFM- LOL! (Sadly I must admit that I loved that song...)Ghost- Looking back the '80's style seems a bit scary -but it was the last time that HAD a style, damnit! haha...Seriously though -the style has been 'no style' since then. I agree with you -things did seem more free (maybe less technical -that is forever gone)...
Ala71I did mean Jersey. I remember big hair. But I made worse fashion faux pax. In fact some on my guys say my fashion sense froze in 1986.
I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!! At some point Lefty was threatening to "out" a conservative he dated. I knew it had to be you!!!!!!Those pictures are a scream.I had that hairdo once (Ala's, not naughty Lefty's).
What a pair! I love it. Was that a Zum Zum dress?!And secretly, I hope that Lefty's bride has pretty hair too, or else there might be some jealousy.PS- ALA, nice deduction. --Cheeky.
Cheeky-I hear that Lefty's wife looks like Isabella Rosellini --so I don't think she has anything to worry about ! LOL!I don't remember who the dress was by -I called it my 'Mae West dress' -the best part was that the slit up the side revealed black stockings with a snake with rhinestone eyes...HAHA...how embarassing -
Oh..MY...GOD! I almost fell over. That is definitely THE hair. And yes, when I left the Philly/Jersey area 6 years ago, BIG hair was still in. As a matter of fact, one of my friends was a hair dresser and she was always trying to give me big hair. She said something like, "don't worry, it will lay down some later". NOT.What was really funny is that I had this picture in my mind that I thought Lefty would look like and that was it. Of course, now I realize that he is much older, but i still picture the hair.Come'on Lefty...tell us the truth. Is your hair now "short and sassy" like your favorite Vice Presidential candidate or long like the modern day "I'm pissed I missed the 60's" wannabe hippies?
In my defense I was only 16 here -I got rid of the big hair in 1990 or 1991....I swear! LOL..........
Ok...first of all Kat, I was never a hippie, I never cared for them much. Guys with long hair in the 80's...or at least this guy, didn't grow it to make a political statement. In fact, to be bluntly honest, I grew it because I thought it looked good, I loved the way it felt on my back, girls liked it and most importantly, I was going to become an absolutley huge rock star.As for now...I guess you could say short and sassy. Not really business guy short, I try to keep some of the stupid curls around but definitely much shorter than back in the day.I officially held out until I was almost 28 and then finally decided that I needed to do something different and besides, at that point I never bothered to take my hair out of a ponytail...so off it went.I still miss the way it felt on my back though and when I get old I think just for fun I'm going to grow it back.Assuming I still have any that is.
Lefty...just giving you a hard time about the "hippie" thing. My youngest brother was all "van halen" and my middle brother had that "tail" thing. All the rage while driving around his refurbished 1983 Camaro with T tops and Poison banging out of the speakers. You all ever hear that country song that goes something like:It was 1980 somethingLooking back now I can see meOh Man, did I look cheesyBig hair and parachute pantsI can't remember the rest off the top of my head, but it's a good song about our generation.
Ala71, I hate to correct you but you heard wrong. It wasn't Isabella Rossalini but Isadora Regatoni of the famous New Jersey olive oil importing Regatonis. I heard that lefty was seen recently with a woman who has beautiful hair flowing down her back. None on her head, mind you, just down her back.
oh, my God- will there be a reunion?Im glad i grew up in the 90's -Then again there was some even more stupid style trends there in the early 90's. yikes, I will be posting no pictures of those times. At least this one a classic. This is halarious!
